Ask Me Wednesday!!

Happy Wednesday, Peeps.

I wonder how many of you are as addicted to the Olympics as I am? Anyone?
Is it just me or does the judging for the figure skating seem to be a bit off this year? Like, you can FALL and still get a gold? What. The. Heck?! That's not how they did it in the old days!!
And can you believe that Lindsey went off of the course during her snow boarding run????! Sheesh!
I'm very happy to sit in my warm home and watch them ..... rather than be there to see it in person. It's too dang cold in the snow! Heck, it's too dang cold down here!!

In other news, I received a call telling me that Son #1's car is done and I can pick it up tomorrow. Thankfully I can get him to come home and drop off the Mustang he's been speeding in all over the Dallas area (I'm just taking a wild guess here. I'm sure he'll deny that.).

All is relatively quiet on the home front. Well, as quiet as it can be with two teenage boys at home ...... which sometimes can be surprisingly quiet.

I finally finished the "Twilight" book series ..... finally! I must say that by the time I started the 4th book .... I was totally addicted. I haven't decided if I belong in Camp Edward or Camp Jacob, though I'm leaning towards the wolves. Vampires are too cold. In my opinion. Nothing personal.

OK .... on to the questions for today:

Which Olympics events have you glued to the TV? Which athlete "stories" from Vancouver are most interesting?

Hmmmmmmm ..... I'm glued to all of them. I like figure skating and I like snow boarding. I also like hockey when the US is playing. I haven't paid too much attention to the individual stories, though I was happy for the young Canadian man who won the gold (Canada's first on home turf) the other night. That was neat.

Do you still wear your wedding ring and if not, when did you take it off? Do you meet with your "circle" anymore since you started dating? Do you think you would have gotten through the past few months as well as you have, had you not been dating?

Hi Anon.
Yes, I still wear my ring, though I had our rings made into a necklace:

And yes, I still meet with my Circle. In fact, I just got home from having dinner with them tonight. We still meet once a week. Our group has gotten bigger and there are a few of us dating now, but we still meet and we still value our time together.
As for your last question, about how well I'd have gotten through the last few months had I not been dating .... I have no idea.
I'm guessing that having this relationship has made things more positive. I think it helped when the holidays were here to have something new to focus on.
But I have no idea how I'd be feeling if I weren't dating C ..... I can only guess that this had made things a bit brighter.

Good morning my darling daughter.
Did you and C do anything special for V Day? (the flowers were gorgeous)

Hi Mom!
We just decided to spend the day hanging out together. We went down to the Galleria area and walked around down there. We had dinner and it was a very nice, quiet day.
He broke our deal a second time ..... when he gave me a pair of earrings. Men.

I have 2 parts to my AMW question-
Are you playing tennis on these cold winter mornings?
How is your hip?

Hi Nat!
Yes, I am indeed playing tennis on these hellishly frigid (does that even make sense?!) mornings. I played on Monday and it was miserable. It stayed in the low 40's and there was a northern wind blowing all morning. The good news is ..... we won. Thank goodness.
I also played this morning in the frigid cold ..... but lost. It is too dang cold for women in their .... well, let's just say .... upper 40's (ha!) to be out risking serious injury in this weather!
As for my hip ..... the last MRI was clear. I have the next one in April. It mostly feels OK though it gives me a bit of grief when it's cold and wet (which has been a lot lately).
But it's much better than it used to be. Thanks. : )

OK, that's it for tonight. I need to get back to the Olympics to see if Sean White can pull out the gold medal. He totally has my vote!!!

G'night Peeps.
Have a happy Thursday.
:)

i too am totally addicted to all things olympic...heck, i even like curling when it's on. (haven't seen it yet this year though)...kids are mad because they don't get to watch the tv right now (we only have one)...i just say "It's once every 4 (or 2) years, get over it." loved yesterday with all the excitement, but will reserve judgment today on the figure skating, because i think the judging is a little off, too. liked the old days when you could always count on a 2.4 from the russian judge :) now i don't know how the point system works.

have a great day!
