We rented a sailboat for just the 7 of us to go out sight seeing and snorkeling.
We had a great time.
Of course, it didn't hurt that it was an open bar .... and no one in Mexico seems to care how old a person is when they order a drink.
And I have been very laid back about that whole thing.
After all .... we're in Mexico.
And we're having fun.
The boat trip was really fun.
If you don't count the fact that the water was beyond freezing cold when we snorkeled.
I was the first one to jump in.
I thought I'd die from the cold and had decided to get back into the boat when Daughter #1 followed me and jumped in.
After about 5 minutes, the water was much easier to take.
I think that just meant that our bodies were starting to freeze and we had only moments to live.
Especially when Daughter #1 said that I looked really good with purple lips.
It.
Was.
Beyond.
Cold.
But, kudos to all 7 of us because every one of us jumped in and stayed in.
We got to feed the fish .... and that was really cool. There are beyond 80 different kinds of fish in this spot in Cabo. We even saw several eels.
It was cool.
I wish we'd had a waterproof camera.
Then we swam up to one of the beaches .... and walked to the other side, which led us to the Pacific side.
That sounded really cool.
Until we started walking across the sand that I swear was WAY over 90 degrees.
I think all of us have blisters on the bottom of our feet now.
Our guide said that we should drag our feet under the sand so that we'd feel the cooler sand beneath the hot sand on top.
What.
Ev.
Er.
Most of us decided to run as fast as we could to get to the other side, and to a beach where the sand was wet and not boiling hot.
We were quite a sight.
We really did enjoy the tour and the snorkeling and the beaches .... in spite of the freezing water and the boiling sand.
And I was very proud that all 7 of us jumped in and participated.
That's not to say that most of us didn't squeal when we jumped in .... and wondered how we'd ever make it across the burning sand, let alone get back into the freezing water to get back to the boat .... but we did it.
All 7 of us.
We had a blast. And will have the hilarious memories of this day for a very long time.
Now it's time to think about dinner.
After having an open bar on the boat .... most of us would really rather take a nap than eat.
We'll see what wins out ..... hunger, or exhaustion from the trip and the open bar.
Thanks for all of the support you've all shown.
You rock.
You really do.
I'm happy.
I'm content.
I'm relieved.
And I am thrilled that this trip turned out to be a trip for just me and my children.
And very, very thankful.
Happy Tuesday, Peeps.
:)
