We Had a Blast ....

.... today.  We really did.
We all got up pretty early and then the girls and Son #1 and I headed to the pool.  We knew this would be our last trip out so we enjoyed every second of the huge, infinity pool.  And before we knew it, it was happy hour (I think that was from 9-10, or maybe 10-11) .... drinks were 2 for 1.  Our last happy hour. Actually, it was also our first. We really didn't spend the entire week drinking. You can't get too happy on a beer or a piña colada, which is what we'd get once in a while. The margaritas had way too much tequila for anyone's taste so we passed on those.
Before that I had walked out to the beach to just sit and enjoy the view and the sound.

But it's pretty darn near impossible to sit and enjoy the beach here in solitude.

Because one or six of these guys/gals always shows up.  And usually they're in a pack.

He actually did have a necklace I liked and I knew that the girls would like some of his stuff. So after I went back up by the pool he must've counted the minutes until I sent the 3 of them down.  Really.

We went back upstairs to shower and get ready for our tour.

I must say that it's been quite nice to make reservations for 7 because that pretty much ensures we ARE the tour!  We did have 2 Canadians who joined us for the first half and then they went off on their own.  We literally spent the rest of the day/evening being driven wherever we wanted to go, for as long as we wanted to stay.  It was great.

Our first stop was a glass factory where I thought they a lot more entertaining than the guys in Venice.  I've seen that place twice now and both times they made a horse.
The guys today made a turtle, complete with a tequila bottle and a sombrero!

Then they asked if anyone wanted to try it and so Son #3 popped up and then Daughter #2.  I think they found it to be a lot more difficult than they had figured.  They had to make sure that they were sealing off any air from escaping around their lips as they blew.  It took a lot of lung power, and they had to use their fingers and hands to seal the airway.

After that entertainment we wandered around the shop/factory for a while and picked out some neat things.  Here's hoping that the neat things arrive back at home, still looking neat ..... and whole.

After that we went to the party section of Cabo (ever been to Cabo Wabo?  Huge, huge party place!) and went to a tequila store/factory to have a few tastes.
Now I've never been a girl who enjoys the taste of liquor so I wasn't sure how this was going to go down.  (Pun intended.)  The first flavor we tried was a vanilla tequila.  I'm not that fond of many things vanilla, but this was great!  And would be good in so many things .... like coffee, on ice cream ...... in a bake mix.  I can't remember all of the things he said to try it in, but more than a few of us agreed so much that we left the store with vanilla tequila.
We also tasted chocolate, coffee, pomegranate, and a bottle that was triple something old.  I'm not sure what he said, but it was old .... triple the time that regular tequila gets old.
All I know is ..... after knocking back my taste ..... my esophagus felt on fire for another 30 minutes. Fortunately the size of a taste is less tha a sip.
I'm not so gung ho on the old tequila.  In fact, I got a bottle of one that was called "young" .... and it tasted very smooth.
Interesting.  I also bought it because I liked the pretty bottle.  Which I'd show you except that it's bubble wrapped and packed in my suitcase.

After the tequila stop we had lunch.  It was a decent lunch, but we tried to rush it a bit so that we could shop longer.
And we did.
Though we didn't have much luck there in Cabo.
But that was ok because we were then on the way to San Jose, which is in the other direction.
And the shopping was much better there.

We found a few jewelry items, two of the girls got blankets and Son #2 got a present for his lovely girlfriend.
We stopped at a couple of places just to take pictures.

The marines are in town.
As is the navy and the Federales.    Traffic was stopped all over town with the Feds checking out cars and pointing their smallish machine guns all over the place.
It seems that the G20 Summit is occurring here in Cabo next week.  Yep, just as we're leaving, leaders of a ton of countries are making their way here to have a meeting.
Did we time that right or what?!  So glad we're on our way out tomorrow.

Get got back to the condo at around 9:30 or so.  Later than we had thought, but as I said, we really did have our own private driver/guide for the day and evening.

Oh!  I almost forgot the glass bottom boat tour!  I think they threw that on win there at the last minute or something.  It wasn't on the list, but we enjoyed it anyway.

Then we came back to the condo and we started the huge process of packing.
It's now right about midnight .... I think we're done.  THe girls hung out in my room while we watched some show like "Wife Swap, except the swapped horrible-acting teens to a home with super-strict parents. It was a delight. :)
Last night we played various forms of dance games on the Wii.  I had never tried it before, but after I decided its not fair to let only the kids humiliate themselves, I was up there dancing like Tina Turner to "Proud Mary".  Well, maybe not just like her .... but pretty darn close.  :)
Actually, the kids are very good at these dance-offs. Me? Not so much. Maybe I'll start practicing at home when Son #3 isn't there. :)

OK, I'm posting some pictures and then going to bed.  We have to check out of here at 10:00 and get picked up for the airport.
Daughter #1 heads back east while the rest of us head back to Houston.  I'm going to miss her very, very much.

OK ..... and now the posting of the pics will commence:

These are the girls .... trying to make a deal with one of the beach vendors:

                                    Part of downtown Cabo:

Entrance to an all-inclusive with great views:

Son #2 (still adjusting to the light of the day) and Son #3:

                                      The Daughters:  1, 2 & 3:

                            All 7 of us: S #3, S#2, D#1, D#2, me, D#3 & S#1:

                                          At the Marina:

                                              Aboard our glass-bottom boat:

                                          The Sons: 1,3 & 2.

I decided that this will be my retirement home:

                                           Note the helicopter:

                                          Fish coming up for food:

                                            Look hard .... they're there:
                                             Ditto:

                                        How's that?  Better?  :)

Evidence of the "brightness" of teen boys (or the lack thereof):

                                                       Off goes one:

This is "the finger" rock again.  Today it looked like a rabbit to me.  A big wooden rabbit that Lancelot, Arthur and that other guy would jump out of ..... had they been inside the rabbit when it was rolled behind the walls of the village. (This is a test.  We shall see if you shall pass. NONE shall pass!)

                                           Two more sea lions today:

And this looked like the very same guy who was hanging out on this rock 2 days ago.

Trying to get pictures (unsuccessfully) of Los Federales.

A popular surfing beach in Cabo:

A cactus garden in San Jose:

                                             Up close:

A mission church in San Jose:

To serve and protect .... and hang out where a bunch of politicians are going to gather in a couple of days:

OK, that's it.  It's now 1: 40 a.m. and my eyes keep closing.  I have to catch a plane in the morning.
I'll post the extras tomorrow ..... after we get home.
We've had a great time.  It will good to be in our own home, in our own beds tomorrow.  But I will greatly miss being able to just relax with the 6 of them.
I have the coolest kids ever.
And I love each of them so very much.

Now it's time to think of a cool place to go next year!!!

Happy Saturday, Peeps.

I am so glad you are having fun but should be careful about posting so much about alcohol - especially in light of your son and his upcoming court case.

The comments about alcohol are over-the-top, tongue-in-cheek stories. Except for the tequila tasting, where those who wanted to taste received less than a sip.
But thank you. Point taken. And appreciated.
