..... today I was married. I had the most wonderful husband I could ask for. God has indeed blessed me. With a godly, awesome husband and father, with six wonderful children and with the best friends anyone could ever ask for.
Even today .... 5 1/2 months after Jim died, I can say that I -- am -- blessed.
I started today whispering to Jim, "Happy anniversary. I love you." Then it was just a regular day. Sort of. Well, maybe not, but I tried to make it so.
Then, at 6:00, my friends M, S and L picked me and my mom up to go out tonight. M had told me to be ready at 6:00, but that's all she would say. They picked us up in a limo. And then we went to pick up D, A, K, D and N. They had picked Italian music to play in the limo and they took me to an Italian restaurant (Jim and I had planned to go to Italy this year for our anniversary). I had a wonderful time. I cried a bit and I laughed a lot. We saw a full rainbow on the way. You don't often, if ever, see full rainbows in this part of the country. God, and Jim, seemed to be smiling down on us. I have the best friends in the world and I'm thankful that I recognize that. Even in the valley I can see that I am blessed. I pray that Jim sees that, too.
So that was my 25th anniversary. Not how I planned or expected to celebrate it Not at all. But not the horrible day that I thought or expected it would be, either. Thank you to my wonderful dear friends. And thank you to V for the flowers. They are beautiful. I can't wait to see you.
And in other news ..... George broke up with his girlfriend. Woot!!!!!!!!

Wow...you have awesome friends. I am so glad they took you out tonight. See you soon.
Oh my gosh! I can't believe you ended the post about your anniversary with a comment about George Clooney!
Hahah!
I love you, Mommy. SOOOOOO much.
Well you had a heck of a lot better anniversary than I did(for those of you who don't know, mine and K1's anniversary is today also, only 11 years later). I left for work at 5:15am and came home to an empty house at 6:45pm. K1 and the girls went to K2's softball game and got home at 9:15pm, and now I gotta go to bed so i can be at work at 5:30 again. But hey, at least I'm not deployed like I've been for 5 out of the last 10 years.
So I saw that George is looking...that's good news for you!! And good new for me is Shania is getting divorced. Now if she can only find me way up here in the land of the midnight sun.
And do you realize that now everyone in our family has tatoos? Pretty scary huh? Well i better pay some attention to K1 for a bit before I go to bed.
Love you all!!!!!!!

J-thought you might like the info on George. You MUST have known already! (you probably sensed it!! LOL)
SO very glad that you had a good day.
I think we are blessed to have shared a wedding anniversary with such an amazing couple. How funny that it worked out the way it did. It was not the month or day we originally planned on marrying. The USAF pretty much decided WHEN!
Hope we talk to you soon.
XOXO

Ah, the hats we wore. Me too!! you do have wonderful friends to have planned with such care how to make the day a special one. I love the tattoos, too!
It sounds like you had a wonderful time, wish I could have been there. Man I have been saying that a lot lately. You do have awsome friends to take you out and make you have fun whether you like it or not!! If any of you are reading this thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking such good care of my sister. You all are AWSOME!!! But then it's easy with J, shes loads of fun to be around (it runs in the family ;) Love and miss you something awful!
So thankful with you and for you that your anniversary was far better than you thought it would be. God is good all of the time.
Wow, what special friends you have and how thoughtful to spend the evening with you celebrating your anniversary. The tatoos are very cool and such meaning behind each one. Just an F.Y.I. I would have hit the floor, I faint when my finger gets pricked so a tatoo I'll probably never have. Although I know I should never say never. Still praying for you everyday.
Love,
Julie
Mommy...we've talked about "woot." :)
Somehow I think George would not hold a candle to your Jim. :) The smile on your face in the wedding pic is the same smile in the pic of you two in Alaska... what a priceless love you two shared and I am so happy you got to live such a beautiful love story. The rainbow is so meaningful. Hope. I'm so glad you had a good anniversary and you are surrounded by wonderful family and friends. Lots of love to you!!! Sorry I didn't get this note to you on the day!
I love you lots!
I'm SO glad that you had a great evening with your wonderful friends. They are amazing:)
"Woot"??? What the heck IS that anyway??? Is that some kind of Texas way of saying "yeehaw"??? LOL! ...I have to agree that you look beautiful. You always have. (although if I was there might force you to eat ice cream and tons of greasy fried chicken so you'd gain a little weight!) You're SO flippin' thin!!!
Speaking of which, how far are you from Mexicali, MX? I might be going down there to have some medical work done.
Anyhow...I love you. every.day.
