This is Jim and me (during my long, blonde phase) --- back around 2005, I think. I can't keep up with my hair styles!
We are now in San Diego. Oh my gosh -- the weather is SO much better than back home!! The highs here are in the 70's. And they think that's HOT!!! Whatevah!!
We got in around noon, I went to the car rental place and managed to get here without any incidents. I hate driving so that's huge for me. Of course, Son #1 was riding shotgun and had control of the gps thingee so there was no way we could get lost. Yay for us.
My house was getting more torn up today -- counters being ripped out. I'm glad I'm not there. I hope that they get a lot done before I get back, but I know how that can go. I'm trying to be relaxed about it. Let me tell you.... it's much easier to be relaxed in another state than it is to be in the house!!!
We have just hung today and it's been great. I'm all for relaxing. Totally. Tomorrow morning we head to the beach. I need that because my Cabo tan is peeling in such a disgusting manner!!!
Here are some pics of our first day:
This is Daughter #2 and my niece, playing that fishing game:
This is the new play set in their back yard. Interestingly enough, all 3 sons seemed to enjoy this quite a bit!
This is the frog pool -- Sons #2 & #3 enjoyed it quite a bit. They'd deny it, but they did.
This is Son #1, playing with S, who's 2. My kids are great. And she's pretty darn cute, too.
These are the hot air balloons that you can watch every night from J & L's back yard. Too cool!
So how many of you have been to San Diego? I cannot believe it's on the ocean and not humid! No fire ants (on my "Ask God" list) and no mosquitos! Too bad it costs about a bajillion dollars to live here!!
The plane ride was fine .... and we totally used Daughter #2's "boot" as an excuse to get on the plane early! We're putting her in a wheel chair at Disney Land and cutting to the front of the line! Does that make me a horrible person?
Maybe you shouldn't answer that!
OK, I'm pooped. It's 9:15 here, which means it's 11:15 to my Texas body.
So 2 questions --- who's been to San Diego and who would totally take advantage of the fact that a daughter has a "boot cast" in Disney Land?
C'mon -- be honest!!!!!

I'm so glad you're all having a great time. We're going to San Diego July 8th! I hope the cool weather holds. We haven't been back since P was one. It would be hard to stand in line with a cast...you really would need a wheelchair to get around such a large area! Have fun!

P.S. Don't forget to check out Trader Joe's.
Long Hair? Ha Ha! ;-)
Have a great time in SD
Love,

easy question--absolutely LOVE San Diego (it's on our list of places to retire to, if only we could afford it) and would sooo use the boot at Disney. In fact, I'm thinking of breaking my child's leg before we go next time (Not). Have a blast! Susan
Been there I think, but to long ago to remember you tell me. Oh and the whole move to the front of the line is the only way to go. Milk it as long as you can!!!! We are getting ready to leave and go downtown Chi-town to the Tattoo Expo and then over to the Taste of Chicago. Have fun and I will talk at ya! Love you tons!
Your lil bro says he has been to San Diego before, but the girls and I have never been. I think California in general is beautiful and I have talked to M1 about moving there when he retires but it all depends on jobs.
I don't think you are taking advantage of the boot cast. That's what handicapped rules are for. Wether they are temporary or permanent handicaps. Think of it this way...if you saw someone with a boot cast getting on a plane first, or getting ahead in a line at Disneyland, would you be upset? I wouldn't. We'd probably move out of their way!!
SO STOP IT!!
Have a great time!
P.S to D-have fun at The Taste...I'm jealous!
XOXO

I've been to SD, and I would totally take advantage of the "boot cast."
After all, you're not doing it for yourself, you're doing it for your daughter. It's not because you want to skip the lines, it's because it would be cruel to make her wait in those long lines in the hot sun.
Did that rationalize it enough for you?

Great job!!!
Thanks --- I feel MUCH better!
:)
Now I just have to keep reminding myself, "It's for my daughter It's for my daughter!"
And thanks to everyone else for giving me the the "thumbs up", too!
Been to SD, grew up about 1 hour north of SD on the coast-Love it! Miss it!! It's wonderful!
I wouldn't think twice about using the boot at DL!!! Or anywhere else for that matter.
Miss you! G and C are great, we are headed back up there to say "good night" in about 3 minutes- My son #3 is taking his responsibility very seriously and will not let anyone else play with or feed george when he is there! (he doesn't realize that son #2 has been there several times without him!! sshhhh!! don't tell him!)
Love you, K
OK, I have never been to SD, but I would totally use the fact that my daughter has a broken foot to take advantage of any opportunities at Disneyland!! Have fun!!

Ive been there! I was born in LA, the San Fernando Valley so technically I'm a "valley girl" :) like totally gag me with a spoon! My grandma lived in SD toward the end of her life. It's much nicer than LA... And yes I am pretty sure I'd use a cast for line-benes. :)
I had forgotten about your blonde hair you tart! Yes, I've been to San Diego, the food was wonderful! Yes you should cut to the front of the lines and not feel guilty! You deserve it!!! Have fun! Cindy T.
Wow, that is QUITE a froggy pool - way fancier than Landon's. We may have to graduate up to it some day!
Glad you're out in beautiful sunny California, too bad you don't still have your long, blonde California hair ;)
