..... even only 5 days into the month I can tell you that I might not remember much of it.
Work is getting busier .... but that's a good thing.
Tennis will be getting busier .... I'm on three summer tennis teams ..... which may mean that I totally quit in the Fall!! Hopefully not, but three is a lot.
The three college kids come home this weekend for Mother's Day (I hope). Son #3 is finished with his finals on Saturday so he'll be home for the summer. Well ... he'll be home for the summer until he leaves to work at camp for the summer at the end of May (along with the two girls).
The following weekend, the 15th, the boys and I will leave town to attend Daughter #2's college graduation that Saturday morning. We will also celebrate Daughter #2 & #3's birthdays (the 24th) and Son #1's birthday (the 27th) that day.
Son #3 and I will return to Houston on the afternoon of the 16th and then I will leave for Moscow on the 17th. My mom will come in to boy and dog/horse sit. What a woman.
I will be back to Houston on the 27th.
Son #2 will come home ..... for good ..... on the 28th (which is also my 26th wedding anniversary).
And then May will end.
In a blur.
I'm tired just writing about it.
So ..... we shall see how much blogging will occur while I'm in Moscow. I think I'll take my computer, but I will definitely have my phone .... which has internet access (albeit expensive internet access. I hope to come in way under than I did on the Kenya trip).
I just got home about 30 minutes ago ..... it's been a very long day. I worked all day and then went out on a new "ministry" that some friends have formed.
I am now part of a group of women who dress as nuns (my apologies to all of you Catholics out there), and then go and sing a couple of songs from "Sister Act" to people who are going through cancer.
We do it to bring a smile to their face and hopefully some laughter to their day. So far it seems to be working.
I find it ironic that I agreed to be a part of this group and then found out that I have cancer.
Lovely, lovely irony.
We don't sing all that well, nor do we dance all that well ..... but we do bring smiles and laughter .... and that's what counts.
I was very tired tonight and really didn't want to go (we went to two homes tonight) but of course I'm glad that I went. It did help lift my mood and my spirits.
Some day I will post a picture for you ..... in spite of the flak I will get from the other members of the group.
Now I am home .... alone. Son #3 is out enjoying male bonding time with his newly adopted uncle and cousin, which I appreciate so much. There have been a few men who have stepped in to spend time with him .... and I appreciate each one of them. He needs men in his life. Constantly.
And so will Son #2 when he comes home.
So I am grateful for my new brother .... who can be here when my birth brother cannot.
And the bonus is that he's a big brother, which I've never had. And his wonderful wife is now my big sister, which I've also never had.
I love them more than I can say and they have wrapped all 7 of us into their arms and their home.
I am blessed.
In other news ..... I came home tonight to find wood floors in my living room (finished) AND in my study!!
I KNOW!!!!
Wow!!!
So now I wait on the railings to be added to the stairs (which will make it a lot less frightening to go up and down them!).
That should be it for a brief moment in time.
Yay for brief, quiet moments in time.
I think that's it for tonight. I need to ponder what I'm going to write for tomorrow's post on "Widow's Voice".
And tomorrow is "Ask Me Wednesday" ........ (Wendie .... I will answer you nutrition question tomorrow).
Tomorrow will also be a busy day so you will have lots of time to ask questions. I hope to have time tomorrow night to answer them, though they may roll into Thursday.
Be brave .... ask away.
Whatever you are burning to know ...... parenting questions, widow questions, whatever ...... I may not know all of the answers but I will give you my experience ..... for good or for bad.
If you just want an opinion or some advice ...... ask away. I'll do my best. I can at least tell you what didn't work for me so that will hopefully help you steer clear a bit. :)
Oh .... and today I received a blog award from Wunderwoman. She is very kind. Too kind.
I'm supposed to accept this reward by passing it on to 15 other bloggers. I will have to save that for another day. Maybe on Thursday or Friday.

I am a horrible rule-follower.
Always have been.
But I'll try.
Have a good night, my Peeps.
And as always .... thanks for being here.
:)

That looks like a cold gondola ride! But is also looks like a very happy couple enjoying their life together.

Ask Me Wednesday: You dared us to ask anything. (You may totally delete this question, and more than likely tell me it is none of my business.) But I have a curiosity to know what Jim's last words to you were before he went in to surgery. I can't even imagine how one would prepare for such a conversation, with all the what ifs. But reading about what an incredible man he was, I was curious about his final words to you and if you still replay them on a daily basis.
I would like to know what your favorite family vacation has been. Location, dates, any details you want to share would be appreciated. I love all the pictures of you and Jim from around the globe and wondered if there was a fave.
I love Tamara's question! A reminder of mine from last week that got lost-how is Jim's brother's recovery going? Praying and concerned for him.
Catching up on this week's posts...
I think you have a wonderful entry for your Widow's Voice post in your final thought from Monday's post...how grief and love being horrible things to waste. Now that is some good writing, my friend! Love the wood floors!! And I am exhausted just reading about all you are doing in May!!
Love you, Vicki
May sounds like a busy/fun month.
I pray all your travels will be safe.
Enjoy those offsprings/God's gifts!

Well, I was raised Catholic (altho' I have changed religions years ago) and I was NOT offended by your group of performing "nuns" and what you are doing. Great, funny idea, and the irony of your own diagnosis does not escape me (or others). Girl, how do you just keep on, keepin' on? You will certainly be in my thoughts on May 28th.
