Today was a decently good day. Until around 5:00.
But more on that later.
The Sons and I did not rise to the occasion this morning and get to the park at 8:00 .... so to speak.
One of the parks opens an hour early each day for the people who stay here.
The last time we came here ..... approximately 10 years ago, it was MUCH easier to get all 8 of us to the park by 8:00 than it is to get three of us there now.
Son #3 and I managed to head out by 10:00.
Son #2 stayed in bed all morning.
We finally met up with him around 3:00 p.m.
Son #3 and I had already been on the awesome Rockin' Rollercoaster. In fact, we ended up riding it three times today. Well, at least I rode it three times. Son #3 stayed longer than I did and rode it a few more times, I think.
We also rode The Tower of Terror 2 times ..... and yes, he stayed and rode it a few more times.
The first time I rode the RRcoaster today .... it was fun ..... and not fun.
I started off smiling ..... I mean, how can you not? Aerosmith blaring into your ears and the ride shoots from zero to 60 in 2 seconds. TWO seconds! It's great!!!
And then I remembered the last several times we rode it ..... over and over and over again.
Jim loved that ride. Very much.
And I felt sad through the rest of the ride.
But then, on the second time, I was able to enjoy it. And I think that Jim was enjoying it through us again today.
So all was going fairly well today .... until after we rode The Tower of Terror for the first time. We ate a late lunch right before we rode it.
I do not get motion sickness.
I love rides. They never make me sick.
I don't think this ride made me sick.
But something did.
Very, very sick.
As we got off and went back around to get in line again, I started feeling queasy ..... and having a lot of intestinal pain.
By the time we got off of the ride the 2nd time ..... I was having a very difficult time walking, talking ..... breathing.
Son #3 wanted to stay behind to ride some more, so Son #2 and I went off to catch the boat back to the hotel. Yes ..... a boat.
This was not the best time to sit on a dock, smelling the fishy smell, and wait for a boat. Neither was it a good time to ride on a boat. Not at all.
I stayed near the rail so that if I had to hurl, I could hopefully do it without many small children being horrified.
I managed to stay under control .... until we got to the room.
And then I proceeded to be sick over and over again until around 7:00.
Since I felt a bit better, I decided to put on my swim suit and head out to the pool with a book. I read about one chapter before not being able to stay awake ..... and yet not being able to fully sleep.
The Sons came out to swim for a while. Then we went back in to get something to eat and take it to the room.
I thought I could handle a bit of soup.
I thought wrong.
I may never let food pass my lips again.
The boys headed back out to the park at 10:00 p.m. (as the Magical Kingdom stays open for park-stayers until 2:00 a.m. tonight). Yes ..... Mother of the Year. Whatever.
They might as well be out there, rather than stuck in this hotel listening to me hurl.
Hopefully this is just a short-term thing. As in, over by tomorrow morning.
If it's not then I may seriously have to consider looking at another religion ...... and seeing what I must've done wrong in a past life.
Because ..... really?!!!?
