Monday, Monday ....

..... and I'm feeling a little blue.

Son #1 graduates from college this Saturday.
I have mixed feelings about this event:  a little sad because it means he's moving forward and makes it official that he really does't need his mother; and ..... a little happy dance is going on inside of me because I won't have to toss money his way or to his god-awful-over-priced-by ridiculous-proportions university.

I also get to go see Daughters #2 and #3, which makes me blue, too, because it's never as long a visit as I'd like.  One of these days I'll scare the hell out of them and visit, unannounced, with about 4 suitcases and 6 cardboard boxes and just say, "I'm here until I'm Not!".    :)
Seriously though, or not, I'm going to see Daughter #3 sing and act in "Chicago".  And while I might be watching the two lead women with poison darts of hate shooting from eyes, as well as to the soul of the director  a wish or two that Daughter #3 had been cast in those parts, I'm thrilled to know I'm going to watch her sing and talk about killing her husband because he wouldn't quit popping that damn gum!!  And who could blame her?!  I'll be the one in the FRONT row, jumping up and saying "You GO, Girl!!"

I shall try to refrain from pointing out that Daughter #3 has worn very little clothing in almost every play she's done since 2004.  Or maybe before .... I think I may have blocked out some of those memories.
Suffice it to say, male directors seem to enjoy casting her as the "floozie next door" character.
And, no, she didn't get her body from my side of the family, why do you ask?

On a totally different note, rather than stay focused on how blue I feel today because I miss my children .... even Son #2 who never has time to visit ..... NEVER ...... I'll let you read about the Compassion Trip to Tanzania ... from a couple of the bloggers themselves.

This first one is by Saun Groves, the second one (try not to cry!) is by Nester:

Compassion Bloggers In Tanzania May 6-12
Well, it’s time once again to get on an airplane and cross an ocean with a bunch of people I met on the internet. I’m heading to Tanzania May 6-12 with the crafty and creative Maggieand The Nester, leadership guru Scott, minivan lover Kelli, homeschooling expert Jolanthe, and the resourceful Amy.
You can follow us at compassionbloggers.com/tanzania and on Twitter here.
We’ll be splitting our time between Arusha (in the East) and Mwanza (farther West), getting on a plane the size of a pack of gum in between. (I joke. Kind of.) We’ll be visiting Compassion International child development centers (aka projects) all week and writing about the experience in hopes of seeing hundreds more Tanzanian kids sponsored.

Well, I Didn’t Expect To Meet HER In Tanzania
I met Hospitality today. Yep, her.

I’ve always known the requirement for being hospitable isn’t about finally getting to the place where you love where you live and can have the most up to date flooring and look cute in the Anthropologie apron while making that delicious meal Ina Garden made on TV when Jeffrey was out-of-town. We all know that. But few of us live that.

Well, I’m reporting to you live from Africa, Tanzania to be exact and you very well may already know what we do here while on this Tanzania trip with Compassion but I’ll give you a quick recap. We travel (what seemed long enough to reach the moon) and then we travel more and just when we think we are done? We travel more. And then finally, when we reach our destination with our greasy hair and bossy intestines we get in a bus and head to a church.

I hope you enjoyed their writings.  We're going to keep up with their trip here and there.  I hope to get comments from you to let me know if you enjoy this.  Meaning .... I'd like feedback, Peeps.

Until then,
Happy Monday.
Monday, Monday.
Can't trust that day.
Oh Monday, Monday how could you stay and not leave me .....
Every other day, (every other), every other day of the week is FIIIIIne, yeah.....

Forgive me.
Mama Cass just took over my body and fingers.
I'd love for her to take over my vocal chords.
As long as no part of a chicken sandwich goes down my throat.
What?!  I'm just saying'......

I thought you'd written "Every other day of the week is feline". Being less than fond of cats, this was disturbing...

tears streaming down my face (even with your "try not to cry" warning) after reading those posts. Beautiful beautiful.

Probably compounded by the fact that tomorrow would have been/is my husband's birthday and his greatest wish the year before his death was to travel to Africa with our church. Different country, different organization, but to help orphans non the less.

Had the opportunity to go in his honor 2 years after his death, and counting the days until we head back again 2/14/13. Wishing I could sponsor a child - but already sponsoring 2 in Uganda. just never seems like enough......

Someday when i win the lottery.........

keep sharing their posts. awesome to read

and sorry you are feeling blue. congrats to S1 on his graduation. And so glad you are getting to see D3 in her show. I know the daggers to the directors feeling, just spent the last 4 days watching my youngest daughter as a "featured dancer" in Beauty in the Beast while hearing the off key singing and every. single. breath. that the girl who was Belle took loud and clear through her microphone. Wanted to strangle her (Belle, not my D3) before the weekend was over. Sorry to digress..... Hope "the blues" pass quickly, will be thinking of you.....
