Daughter #2 wanted to visit the Guitar Center to see about upgrading her ukulele, which we did. We spent about an hour there while she tried different instruments, while comparing the sound. She's happy with her new ukulele, as am I ..... it sounds great.
Now maybe she'll let me use her old one to see if I can teach myself as well as she did. I doubt it. Highly. But it would be neat to try.
Son #3 went with us, to: 1. kill time 2. Look at various bongo drums 3. Hope that I would ok a stop at the mall for some shoes he'd been eyeballing.
He managed to do all 3. Which made him guard his tongue a bit more carefully when we made 2 extra stops. He did ok for himself by going along with his sister and me. And besides, he had more fun than he would have had he stayed home. :)
The 3 of us met good friends for dinner ... Mexican Monday if you live in this part of the woods.
Speaking of this part of the wood .... OMG it was incredibly warm today! And by warm I mean that the "felt" temperature was over 100 degrees. No kidding.
All I could think of this morning, at 7 a.m. as I was watching the weather and it was already 83 degrees, was, "Dang! I am SO glad I'm not playing tennis today!" But I am playing Wednesday morning, which should be even warmer.
So. Much. Fun.
Daughter #2 returns home tomorrow morning. I will, and already do, miss her very much. It's so nice to have the girls home .... or even one of them. It's just a different spirit around here when there's another female. Not that I don't love Son #3, because we all know that I do .... very much, but there's something to be said for having a daughter to hang with.
Fortunately, as she leaves tomorrow I'll be leaving to spend the day with 2 good friends. We'll be heading to an outlet mall, and then another mall, and then the Galleria area in Houston. A very full day.
That should keep my mind busy from missing my daughter(s).
In other news .... while Daughter #2 played her new ukulele this afternoon, I was able to put away ALL of my laundry and all of the left over unpacking I had to do.
I am now caught up with the hum drum normal day-to-day-things of life: bills, laundry, groceries.
And it only took 2 full days. My longest "unorganized" time yet.
Scary, I know.
Either way you look at it.
:)
So, other than missing my kids, which is normal .... life is back to normal and back to being very good.
The kids and I had a fabulous week in Cabo, even though I wondered how it would go at the beginning of the week, given the crap I was going through during that time.
But, after realizing that I didn't want to deal with insanity anymore, I was able to let things go ... for good, and was able to just focus on the the kids. It was a great week.
I have not looked back since then, nor have I regretted ending that chapter of my life and moving forward.
Life is good.
And so much better than it was before.
I'm looking forward to the summer .... and just hanging out with Son #3 when he's not at work. Next summer he'll be planning on what he's packing for college. This summer he's still focused on being home.
When he's home. :)
Son #2 has decided on, and signed the lease for, an apartment which he'll move into next month. I think he's pretty excited about it. I'm pulling extra stuff that i have around the house out for him to use. I'm excited for him. He's still doing very well with his job and is happy with his life right now.
I'm so glad that he was able to take last week off and go with us to Cabo. He's not one who really enjoys traveling ... he's much more of a homebody, so I was glad that he made the effort and joined us. I told him yesterday that I miss having him around after seeing him all the time for 7 days. :)
OK, that's it for today/tonight.
I'm beat.
But happy.
And content.
And glad to be moving on with the next chapter of my life ... whatever it holds. No more walking on egg shells. No more biting my tongue.
Things are good.
Very, very good.
:)
Thanks, Peeps.
And Happy Monday/Tuesday.
:)
