I'm Home ....

... and I think I'm caught up with all of the emails from you, asking to read the other blog.
If you sent me an email and you haven't received an invite from Blogger, please email me again.  There are several invites that have been sent, but haven't yet been opened by the recipients.  So please check your email carefully, and if you haven't received an invite, let me know.

Son #3 got home from camp last night, a few hours before I arrived.  He was pretty tired.
Son #1 got home about an hour before I arrived, and he picked me up at the airport.  My mom was also here to hold down the fort while I was gone.  She went home this morning and will return this weekend to hold the fort down yet again, while Son #3 goes on a Young Life trip and I go to visit friends.  I'm trying to take advantage of the time he'll be away from home .... so that I can see friends, plus not sit at home alone.
It's been a busy summer and all signs point to it continuing to be busy!

Oh, on a completely different note .... I have a "coffee date" tomorrow.  It's with a man who saw me on line and has asked me out.
I figured what the heck, so will meet him tomorrow afternoon.  I'm not expecting much, but figured I'd at least go have something to drink.

LIfe is .... interesting.

It's good to be home and yet I miss being in Oregon with my father and my sister.  The visit was too short.  I'd love to go back again and take Sons #2 & #3 with me. I think they'd enjoy the guns that my father builds, as well as the bikes he rides/builds.  He has a beautiful Harley that I know they'd enjoy riding.  :)

My mom left me with the entire "Gilmore Girls" series so my homework this week, other than getting all of the volunteer info together for Camp Widow West (and to prepare for my workshop presentation there) is to watch this series, which she says I will love.
She's probably right.  I'm still on Season 1, but I've enjoyed it.
More importantly, I have immensely enjoyed a new show that started this summer, called "Bun Heads".  It's on Monday nights on the Disney Family channel, or something like that.  I think there's been about 4 episodes so far and I have to say ..... I love it.  Totally.
The woman who's the main character is a Broadway actress and I really like her.  The other main woman was the mother on "Gilmore Girls".  The premise, which I didn't think I'd like .... is that a Las Vegas showgirl/dancer finally agrees to go out with a man who's been trying to woo her for a very long time.  He's totally smitten, she is not.  But she become so disillusioned with the Vegas scene and with the constant auditioning process, that when he proposes ... and offers her a calm, peaceful life in a place called "Paradise", with a fantastic beach front view, she succumbs.  They marry, he brings her home .... which he failed to say was shared with his mother .... and then he promptly gets killed in a car accident the night of their after-wedding party.
That part .... not so funny.
In fact, that part was pretty damn sad, in spite of the fact that she really didn't know him.
But now she's trying to carve out a life with her less-than-friendly-mohter-in-law, who runs a dance studio, and the result is a very good show.

OK, that's it.  I'm done for the night.  I need to go to bed so that I can get up and go to church tomorrow morning.

But before I close I want to say that I love my children more than they will ever know.  I appreciate them.  I am so thankful for their love and support .... especially when it calls for them to make tough choices.

And now, it is time for me to go to bed.  And get some rest.
And start a new day with new possibilities.
Who knows what tomorrow will bring?
Hopefully something good.
:)

Happy Saturday/Sunday, Peeps.
:)

Glad that you had such a nice time with your sister and father, Janine! Yes,,,,,older people seeking out the "friendship" of a teenager sounds very dangerous to me. Not good at all! Can't wait to hear how the coffee date turned out!

The Gilmore Girls is probably my all time favorite tv show! I cannot believe you haven't seen it. You must watch it, love it, and share it with your girls. My dad got me and my sister hooked on it!!
