(I KNOW!!! Five posts ...... FIVE days in a row!!
What.
The.
Heck?!
I have no idea, other than my social life is ....... wait a sec, I need to fall off of my chair laughing ...... OK, I'm back on it. Those three words made me laugh SO hard ...... "my social life". HA!!! I don't have one so I can't really use the word "my". Wow, I'd better be more careful ...... I could break a hip or something.
Anyway, now you know why there have been 5 posts in 5 days.)
I forgot to mention yesterday that I also had a third pile of stuff. I kept thinking there were 3 when I was typing the post, but couldn't remember what the last one was, so I figured it must've been only two.
Maybe I shouldn't have tossed the gingko biloba, ya think?
Sigh ......
Anyway, last night was the third night in a row that I did not fall asleep until after 1:00 a.m. Fortunately, I think I fell asleep before 1:30 last night, but the two previous nights it was more like 3:00 and 4:00.
A.M.
So this morning I heard a text on my phone at around 8:30. It was in the family room. For some odd reason I decided to get up and go check it, in case something was up with one of the kids. As I walked into the family room, Son #3 was sitting there playing a video game. He was dressed and looked like he'd been up for at least an hour, which I think he had, because I heard him come down stairs with the two marauding bulls, I mean ..... dogs, he sleeps with. Those two come storming down the stairs every morning like they're landing on the beaches of Normandy, ready to attack whoever or whatever stands in their way.
Maybe I should start shutting my door at night.
But I digress. Big surprise.
I picked up my phone, turned on the coffee pot and then blearily tried to read the text. I saw that I would need some reading glasses so I went back into my bedroom, where I happened to pass a mirror and glanced into it.
I canNOT believe that the Son, or especially the dogs, didn't yelp in horror when they saw me! My hair looked like it had been in a huge fight all night long. Which is interesting because last night I watched a Netflix documentary about Muhammad Ali, which means that I watched a lot of boxing clips.
Maybe I acted out the documentary in my sleep.
Or at least my hair did.
Well, at that point I decided that I was still too exhausted to even care ...... so I went back to bed. After reading the text, which was from one of my children but thankfully it wasn't a text that required any action from me.
I fell back to sleep almost as soon as my messed up hair hit the pillow.
The next time I woke up it was 11:00.
So much for making it to church on time.
I sat down to eat a bowl of cereal and decided to watch a movie that was just starting that I'd never seen. (Is this as boring to all of you as it seems to be to me? How sad is it that this is my life and how sad is it that part of your life is reading this drivel?).
No, I'd never seen this movie, in case some of you people who are older than me (all 3 of you) are shocked. Yes, it's an Alfred Hitchcock movie and it had Tippi Hendren in it, whom I'd only seen in "The Birds", also a Hitchcock movie, but thankfully a very different type.
More importantly it had Sean Connery in it, whom I also enjoy staring at. Yes, he's older than I am and no, I really don't care.
And yes, I've heard his comments about this relationship with his wife (or former wife/wives) and I still don't care. I don't want to live with him ...... I just enjoy looking at, and listening to, him.
ANYWHOOOOO, I watched the movie and enjoyed it. And then I started the whole purging thing again.
I finished an entire closet, a linen closet and then about a third of another closet at around 6:30. I ended up with a few more large piles of stuff that will no longer occupy space in my home.
And then I decided that I had had enough purging for the day.
So I poured a glass of wine, ordered Chinese and am now watching the NBA All-Stars game.
What is the deal with James Harden's beard? Because really?! It's ugly. Really, really ugly. Is that why Oklahoma City gave him to us?
Yes, weekend nights really do suck, thank you for noticing.
(The Son left this morning for the day, came home for about an hour or so and then left again for the evening. Thankfully he has a more exciting life than his mother.)
Though I really couldn't care less, I shall now return to watching the game.
Or watch "Downtown Abbey".
The excitement never ends.
Happy Sunday, Peeps.

should a tree ever fall my roof again - and I hope God/nature would not be that cruel to me - I know who to call to help with the purging of things.
Your weekend nights sound about as exciting as mine. Except we have evening church on sunday, so at least I have a reason to leave the house for an hour. But yeah I know, that doesn't really count as a social life. Does it count that the kids usually end up here after youth group? No I guess that counts as my kids social life, even if I do have to wander through the living room now and again to supervise and make sure they aren't doing anything, you know, un youth group like...... I need to get out more.......
sorry you're not sleeping. RA again? no relief from the infusion? Will say a prayer that you start getting some rest - I know too well how that no sleep thing goes.
xoxo miss you much
Good morning my darling daughter.
I'm a little behind on my reading,
but I wanted to say that "Marnie" has always been one of my favorite movies. I'm surprised that you had
never seen it before. I watch it every time I see that it's on. D wants to know when you will have some free time so we can come visit. We DO miss seeing your gorgeous face! Love you lots.
