I am going to deal with all things "funeral home". Such exciting reading! I know you can hardly wait.
I have to gear myself up for this one. And, I have to sit and really try to remember everything I want to tell you ...... all of the things that you can take care of now ...... if you'll just make the time to talk about them.
And let me say this ...... about that.
Talking about death ...... and making plans for the inevitable ...... does not mean that one of you will certainly die within the next week. Or year.
Really.
The word "death" has no power at all.
Except that which we give it.
So prepare yourselves.
Gird your loins ..... or whatever else needs girding ...... and be prepared to make notes. And then follow through with a discussion.
Or else all of this will be a complete waste of time.
I'm in NY with 4/6 of my children. Tomorrow there will be 5. There won't be six because one couldn't get time off of work. So he's house/dog sitting. God bless him.
I have been putting furniture together, installing curtain rods (which I hope to never again do in this lifetime), hanging curtains, hanging wall stuff and just plain ol' working my butt off.
I'm pooped. And sore. And tired.
I was up until 5:00 am this morning putting an end table together.
I am stubborn.
And a little O.C.D.
But the table looks fabulous.
I got half way through the second one tonight, and then told Son #1 (the four kids arrived today) that if he loved me, he'd take over.
He's finishing it up as I type this.
Bless him.
So far I've had to send back one room divider and now a small dining table. Both were damaged when they arrived from Overstock.com.
I'm not thrilled with their "mint condition" to "damaged" ratio.
Hopefully they'll send replacements ASAP.
That's it.
I'm tired.
And too old to be climbing up into windows to balance precariously and force screws into walls.
But maybe that's just me.
Happy Saturday, Peeps.
:)

kind of wondered why you were up until 5 instead of putting the kids to work - now I know, glad they are here to help - and hopefully not only put table together but to climb/perch/balance and hang anymore curtains that need to be done! Sounds like you are making some nice additions/changes to your "east coast home". Looking forward to seeing you- very soon!!! xoxo
