I surrender

Let's see .... do you want the bad news or the bad news first?
You're right, let's go with the bad.  Son #3's bike was stolen from his school yesterday.
And what was that other thing......?  Oh, yeah --- I remember ---- I'm sick.  I think I have what my sister had and I just want to go into a coma.  I'm getting ready to go back to bed for the weekend.
I'm also considering becoming a Buddhist or maybe one of those martian-jump-on-the-couch-people.
It seems to me, in the concert of my life, "God has left the building."

"He will not leave you or forsake you". Neither will your friends. (Even though it may seem like it at times) Still praying for all of you.

Well, maybe you and your daughter would like to make a visit to Connecticut and check out YALE? We have plenty of room and certainly know our way around New Haven.

The offer stands indefinitely and unconditionally open. Email me!

I've been praying for you since I read this post earlier and I just heard these lyrics on KSBJ and I thought of you. Washed by the Water by Need to Breathe (part of the lyrics). It's a beautiful song!

Even when the rain falls
Even when the flood starts rising
Even when the storm comes
I am washed by the water

Even if the Earth crumbles under my feet
Even if the ones I love turn around and crucify me
I won’t never ever let you down
I won’t fall
I won’t fall
I won’t fall as long as you’re around me

My best friend often talks about different "parts of herself" - part of herself may feel this way while another part has an almost paradoxical thought. I know your faith is extremely strong and deep and woven into every fiber of who you are, and yet there's also a part that questions God and why all these bad things keep happening and prayers don't seem to be answered- trouble heaped on trouble. The passage about putting on the full armor of God to protect us from the fiery darts of the evil one has appeared to me twice in reading. Faith is part of our shield against his darts. It won't stop bad things from happening but it seems to help me to know that no matter what horrible awful things happen in this world, this is not our home, and as long as we are here we are going to suffer at least during some seasons of our lives. God is real and working in the love of the friends and family. He is holding you and loves you so much. Rebuking the enemy with the Word of God is powerful and it works. Xoxo
