A blog that started out as a humorous tale of raising 6 children, then quickly became a chronicle of my grief at being suddenly widowed. Now it's the rest of my journey ... of living, laughing, crying, praying, rejoicing. Of being happy, sad, angry, content, sorrowful, alone, amazed and very, very blessed. And still taking life, one breath at a time ........
I love you Janine. I can only imagine how chaotic your thoughts must be right now. The song you posted yesterday is beautiful and sad and so true. I keep praying for God to give you strength. When I think about all that you have come through this year, and still see a glimpse of your humor at the end of yesterday's break in your regularly scheduled hiatus, I believe that prayers are answered. You and the kids are always in my thoughts and so is Jim. Ann
Dear Lord please take some of the pain J is feeling and put it on my shoulders. She has been through enough and I want to take some of the pain she is feeling to give her a break. I can handle it Lord, take some of hers away and give it to me!
It's almost 11pm and here I sit, hoping that you're peaceful. Thank you so much to everyone who is commenting and telling us about yourselves. I love "meeting" each one of you and I'm so thankful that you're here to support our Janine! Please keep the stories/introductions coming. I think it's giving J a much needed break, but still keeping her connected to us all:) I have to tell you all that I'm SOOOO excited! Okay, I know this isn't a big deal for most people, but I got my new saddle today! I had it made by the Amish especially for my wonderful little paint mare who is truly my best buddy. (Please don't tell my husband!)I've been waiting for weeks for it to come...and today was the day! Yipppeee! {sigh}I'm pretty easy to please.
Sending prayers your way that you can find some comfort in this difficult time. Prayers and hugs coming your way from a complete stranger in Massachusetts (although I guess I am not really a stranger anymore since I've "introduced" myself already through my previous posting as suggested by Lisanne).
May all of your wonderful memories of Jim get you through this time. You're such an inspiration to all of us who read your blog. Know you are not alone for He is with you. Jim is with you in your heart. "Be still, and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10
Hey...you've been on my mind and continue to be in my prayers during the next few weeks. You and your family.
I don't comment often but I do read and I do care. I just...I don't know what to say at times and nothing I type sounds like it will help so I delete it and just say a prayer for you instead.
Janine, What a great song, Thanks for sharing. The words are pretty amazing and kind of like he wrote the song just for you.
PS For those of you that don't know me (I guess that would be everyone) I know Janine because we happened to sit at the same table at the She Speaks conference in NC. Somehow we discovered we were both widows, and exchanged blog addresses. I've been reading her blog since then. Some times when I read her posts it feels like I'm looking in a mirror and seeing myself 15 years ago.
Hope every day is a little bit better for you,Janine.
I like this song and often think of you when I hear it. I'm praying for peace in your chaos...I know somehow God is doing something heavenly through all this. susan

There are no words, just caring thoughts, prayers, and hugs . . .
