OK, I have broken my hiatus again because this is indeed a miracle. For those of you who don't live in south Texas ... you probably can't appreciate it. But I have lived here for over 17 years and have never - ever - ever - ever (do you get it yet?) EVER seen this:
A Mexican palm ..... covered in snow:
Son #3, with snow on his hoodie --- and it's wet from playing in the snow:
A snow angel!!!!
A neighbor's yard:
My new car .... with snow on it:
A full-sized snowman!!! Of course, if you look closely then you'll notice that he has wine bottles for arms, but hey ----- that's south Texas for you! Note: the waiters at the restaurant made this snowman --- not us, so I have no idea if the wine was good. That is not to say, however, that we couldn't have made one, too. I just didn't want to take the credit.
One of my dear Circle friend and I attempted to make a teeny snow man. Pay no attention to his head, which is laying on the right of him:

So there you go ..... another break. I had dinner tonight with my Circle and I'm so glad that I did. They "get me" like no one else does. They totally understand my feelings and don't panic at them. They all feel or have felt the same feelings.
So tonight is a better night. Not a great night, but I don't think I've had a great night in almost a year. A better night is huge.

I am so glad you have your "circle". Really, very glad! A better night is a good thing.
Can you believe the snow??? Your Son #3 came over and helped my two youngest build a very large snowman (considering) its about 3 feet tall. Meanwhile, T has strep, fever, and is barking like a seal; yet I still let him go out and play in the snow for a little while. I am mother of the year!!! Move over Britney!!!!!tomorrow he'll have pneumonia!ughhhh!! :-/
Gotta love that snowman- I like the wine bottle arms! genius!
Love you, K
I'm really glad you had a *better* night tonight.
Enjoy the snow. And feel free to keep it down in TX--it's only snowed here in RI once, and I'm already done. LOL
When I was little, my sister and I thought you had to make snow angels by laying FACE DOWN in the snow. My dad still teases us about that. LOL
Wow!
Not only did you get snow, you got ACCUMULATION! If only it could stick around long enough for you to hone your snowman building skills... although he is the cutest, tiny, head-challenged snowman I've ever seen. :)
The angel is really good - did S3 do that or did he get pummeled with snowballs?
I'm glad you had a better evening.
Love you,
Ann
Ok...I'm crossing Houston off my list of places to retire!!!
NO SNOW!!! LOL!!!
(however, I do believe that the snow was a special gift from heaven)
XOXO

Yay! Happy Festivus! We're supposed to get snow this weekend too, but I'm not nearly as excited as you are;) I hate it. Yes, it's beautiful and all, but when it snows an inch in town, it snows 10 inces at MY house! I get snowed in and can't go anywhere and I HATE being stuck! Last year we had snow from Christmas day until April! I think God forgot that it was supposed to be Spring;)
I just got home from teaching a class. It was HUGE. The whole world is in a panic and wanting to buy guns and get their Concealed Handgun Licenses. It's good for me, but disheartening that our country has to be so fearful of the future. {sigh}
Anyhow...it's 10:57pm and I'm so pleased to see that you logged on and posted...and that I detected a small amount of joy in your post:)
(or was that from the wine/arms???;)
I love you TONS!!!
Lis
Wow.....snow....yay!!!!!! Maybe we will get some too someday. I sure miss that.
I am glad spending some time with your circle made you feel better for a bit. I wish we all lived closer.
Love, L
So, thankful to God that you had a better day and evening. What a blessing your "circle" is..what a lovely gift from God. We all need people like that in our lives. The snow is unreal. We mainly get ice instead of snow...I'd rather have the snow, but then I would also rather not have any weather like that. Ha, ha. Glad that you had a better evening. Thanks for letting us know. May today and tonight be better than you anticpate, that is my prayer for you today. Keep looking up...May He keep lifting your head and be your shield. Psalm 3:3. Love,Mary Lou
Hey! Ok...I hear a rumor that it was D's and my fault that it snowed. So not true! Just because the weather has been really really weird ever since we moved down here (not to mention the love bugs) doesn't mean it's our fault! Does it? Hmmm...maybe it does. Be prepared. I feel an ice storm on the way. And can an earthquake be far behind?!? I'm just saying. . .
I love you bunches!! And we're not moving back to Oklahoma, so forget it!
WOW- that IS a miracle for Houston! Looks like fun. You all got more than anything Dallas did. And it will be 70 degrees in 2 days- amazing.
And yes- I did forget to mention that something else we have in common is a piece of our hearts are with Africa. :)
And with wine...
Hope you are doing the 'best' that you can today. Still praying for you all.

Good to hear from you and loved the photos! That snowfall was a delight for us all and a gift from God!
Love you!
The pic of the snow angle brought tears to my eyes for some reason and this thought popped in my head for some reason about you: 'there are angels all around you'. I don't know really how angels really work and all... but i'm just saying that's the thought that popped into my head, a vision of celestial beings surrounding you and your home in light. Know you are loved and prayed for. And yes the snow was awesome wasnt it?
The pic of the melting snowman made me chuckle! I wish I had something to offer to help with the fog. I may have a glowstick in my closet? :) xo
