This post isn't just to help you notice that the blog went from black and white to color (lots of color .... my eyes are still having difficulty adjusting!), but to explain why.
I. Don't. Know.
See, don't worry ..... I may have color but I still have no firm grip on anything else.
Truth be told, don't get too used to this look because who knows how long I'll like it?
I'd been thinking about changing the look for a while. I was tired of the black. I still have enough black in my life that I wanted something else to look at on the blog. So it's all colorful and cheerful-looking ---- but just be aware ....... that's the blog and not me.
But hey, I think that just the fact that I was ready for a change is huge. I want more cheerfulness in my life.
Baby steps.
One breath at a time.

Just like Bob in "What About Bob" Baby steps is good! The fact that you wanted to change IS huge, like you said. I'm use to the change thing K1 changes thiers all the time and I look forward to seeing what she will do next. I love you and hope you enjoy your time with the kids. We get to have all 5 with us starting on Christmas day until the 5th of January. We haven't all been together that long in about 4 years. Mike and I are looking forward to it. Love you sis!
Good morning my darling daughter. I love the new look. Change is hard. Change can be good. I really love the picture in color.
Take care and enjoy your time with the kids. I love you.
i love the new look, the rich color, the brightness of the picture. i smiled when i saw it.
i love you. lori
I love the new layout. The colors are rich, not too bright, and blend together perfectly. I'm also somewhat averse to the light text on on dark backgrounds, so my eyes approve too!
I was so glad to read your dedication post. Well, glad isn't the right word, as you said, I wish you didn't need to write it, but I'm happy that you and the kids got to feel the love and respect that everyone in the room held for Jim. If anything could feel good, it would be that the person you miss so much is also missed so much by so many others.
MY EYES!!!!! I'M BLIND!!!!!
JK...I was happy to see the change!
Little Bro
OK J,
I'll TRY not to get too attached, but this layout has so much texture and beautiful colors, I'm afraid I already am...but don't worry about me if you decide to change again, I'll muddle through somehow.
Love you,
A
Love the new look. When I noticed it yesterday all I could do was start singing the Barry Manilow song "I made it thru the rain."
I hope the color helps you to remember how far you've come.
It certainly shows off what a good looking family you all are.
L.
I really like it! The green is really nice! :)
dang, girl. you livin the high life now!
i like the green, though. good choice.
i'm glad daddy eggers' building dedication went so well. i never got to know him, but he must have been something beyond words to have helped you make L and K the wonderful women they are today. i kind of love them. kind of.
plus, you've gotta love a man who loves his scotch. duh!
LOve the new look--but as my friend Kermit says, "It ain't easy bein' green." So if you want to change to something else, that's okay, too. And, green is the color of new life. susan
Cheers to you for the new look on the blog. I love the layout style, kind of looks like a scrapbook. Cheers to Jim, for everything he was to so many people. (raise glass here.
I continue to pray for your family.
