Yesterday's Press Release

Humble ISD will dedicate the James D. Eggers Instructional Support Center during a special ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at 4810 Magnolia Cove Drive in Kingwood. The community is invited.

The Humble ISD Board of Trustees voted to rename the Instructional Support Center, which opened in January 2004, to honor the memory of former School Board President Jim Eggers. Mr. Eggers passed away unexpectedly on Dec. 18, 2007, at age 47 due to complications from a sudden heart ailment.

He was a community leader who generously shared his time, knowledge and expertise. He began serving on the Humble ISD Board of Trustees in 2004 and was Board President. He also served in various capacities at the Houston Food Bank, Downtown Houston Association, the Kingwood YMCA, Christ the King Lutheran Church in Kingwood, and SEARCH, a downtown homeless service organization.

Before being elected to the school board, he was chairman of the 2002 Humble ISD Bond Review Committee, whose work resulted in $230 million in new schools and facility renovations. This included the construction of Atascocita High School and the creation of Kingwood Park High School.

He was a devoted husband to his wife, Janine, and father to their six children. Mr. Eggers was a partner at KMPG LLP and was the U.S. Audit Sector Leader – Energy.

The James D. Eggers Instructional Support Center includes meeting and training rooms to support the professional growth of teachers and school district staff members, the Professional Resource Center and offices for district employees. The building also is used for public events, such as early voting.

Same here sis...I've sat here and tried to think of something either humorous or deep to say but all I can come up with is that I love and miss you all very much, and you know how I feel about Jim!

Thought you'd like to know I walked into my kitchen this morning and the dishwasher was open. Daughter number one opened it to take a glass out. It didn't occur to her to close it or empty it.
