I Have Done .....

.... my level best.
No, strike that.
I have done my utmost. My very, very best.
I have not one iota of doubt.
Not one ounce of guilt.

I came.
I saw.
I spent.

If the economists of Greece (and Turkey) don't show at least a small rise in the graph of how the economy is doing .... for the month of June this year ..... then there is nothing left to be done.

As we are slowly sailing away from Greece right now (....sigh.....) I can say with confidence that I did what I came to do .... and I gave it my all.

And .... I'm quite proud to say that my sister-in-law is coming on board this ship as I am leaving.
She will no doubt be able to pick up where I left off .... doing the family proud.
Who knows? Maybe Greece will want to change our surname from a German one into a Greek name!

I've tried twice to upload pics from the Acropolis, but the internet on the ship is not cooperating.
It was amazing.

And yes, I got into trouble by taking a picture.
It's not the first time.
Some day I will have to share my story of being stopped by the military for taking a picture of a classified building in Paris. Yes ..... Paris, France.
As I said today ..... who knew?!

It seems that it's forbidden to take a picture of something in front of the Parthenon. Something like ..... oh, I don't know ..... Peeps.
Again .... who knew?!!!
Sheesh!

And .... when one takes a forbidden picture of the Parthenon, one is made to stand there and delete said picture while the heavily-accented Greek authority impatiently waits.
And let me tell you ..... it's very hard to delete a picture on a brand new camera that you barely know how to use when a very unhappy heavily-accented Greek uppity authority is breathing down your neck.
It took at least 10 minutes ..... and D1 accidentally figured it out.
She has no idea how she did it.

After that experience I was very tempted to avoid the shops .... and thus spare the Greek economy from my euros ...... but I relented.
After all ..... you can't blame an entire country for one uppity person's behavior.
Right?

Tomorrow is our last day at sea.
Another relaxing day.
Then we head out to Capri and the Amalfi Coast for Thursday.
And Friday .... we head to the airport. At 6:00 a.m.
Sigh.

OK .... that's it for today.
Time to relax before dinner.

Happy Tuesday, Peeps.
:)

laughed out loud at your expense...will we never get to see the pic of the peeps in front of the parthenon? or did D1 just manage to hide it, not delete it? i hear that they stay in the memory even after the delete...you should check the manual. and just for grins, did D1 get a pic of you being stopped by the greek police? if not, she totally missed out.
