.... are a really good thing to have.
My friend V is visiting from Oklahoma. She came in yesterday. I love spending time with her.
C and his girls came over for dinner last night .... D#3 was in town, too and she cooked a fabulous meal. My friend D came over, too, to hang with us and to relax. We had a great evening.
In the not-so-good news department .... Son #2 has a big bad case of mono. He was diagnosed yesterday morning. I knew he was really sick when he called to make the appointment ..... AND said that he wanted a shot. Yikes.
His throat has been keeping him up at night and was causing severe pain.
Thankfully, he's feeling better today. He's laying low and sleeping a lot, so we haven't seen much of him. I just check on him once in a while to make sure he's still breathing.
Son #3 left for camp today. Daughter #3 is volunteering at the camp this week so they drove off together (Son #1 and Daughter #2 are working there this summer).
One son sleeping most of the time and one son off at camp.
It will be a quiet week.
Quiet weeks are nice.
:)
Next week will be even quieter. Son #3 will be on the youth trip and Son #2 will be taking his turn to spend a week at camp.
It almost makes you want to cry, doesn't it?
:)
Oh ..... tears of loneliness, of course.
Huge, fat lonely tears.
(Yes, the boys still read the blog once in a while.)
I will muster up my strength though .... and get through the quiet week as best I can.
I will try to push the giddiness down and out of sight.
Just the thought of all of that giddiness makes me light headed.
I'd better go work on my strength-mustering.
As best I can.
Bye Peeps.
And Happy Sunday.
:)

Ahem! Are you going to share with us about Lauren's birthday gift to you???? I'm dying here!
Love you SOOO, so, so much!
Lis .... you are very, very lucky that Lauren gave it to me ..... LAST NIGHT!!! Or else I wouldn't have known what you were talking about but would've known that something was up!!!
Thank you for contributing to it .... I love it!!!! And I love you!! I need to plan a trip up there to see you and the girls (and boys!).
xoxoxo
Ha! I already KNEW that you got it! Lauren told me:)
I'm SO glad that you loved it!
Since I now consider myself a long-time reader, every once in a while, after reading one of these great posts, I scan back to where you were a year ago on the same date. How far you have come! A cliche always, but what a difference a year makes.
Incidentally, tomorrow is the one year anniversary of the day that you tried to talk me into making some sort of Texas sheet cake that contained a ridiculous amount of ingredients.
