And Then There Were ....

.... four.

Four kids, that is.

Daughter #2 had to go back home (well, not her true home) today.
She and D1 and Son #1 enjoyed most of the day with each other, shopping downtown.

Tonight we are just hanging out at home, spending time together.
Enjoying the time we have.

Yesterday the 6 of us went bowling with C and his two daughters.
We had a good time.
And it's a huge relief to know that none of us is going to be leaving any time soon to go on the pro tour.
Or ever.

This is the last week of summer for everyone around here.
Figuratively.
School starts a week from today.
Yay for parents.
Boo for teachers.

Actually, I've always enjoyed summers with the kids off. It's nice to have no set schedule for a few months.
It's nice to just hang with them, with no threat of homework or exams looming overhead.

And most of all ..... it's mighty nice to sleep in most mornings.
I'm really going to miss that.
Very much.
Sigh ....

Daughter #1 returns to the east coast on Wednesday.
Son #1 heads to Spain a week from tomorrow.
I think they are both very excited.
Son #1, not surprisingly to anyone who knows him, pretty much has the city of Madrid memorized.
Every street.
Every bus route.
Every subway line.

He makes me tired.

Mom and D are visiting my brother and his family in Alaska.
This means that I have 2 horse/dogs in my house.
Her horse/dog weighs about 30 pounds more than mine.
Three hundred and sixty pounds of horse/dog in my house.
3.
6.
0.
It's a good thing they both know not to mess with me.

They have no idea that they could take me .... in about 2 seconds.
Yes, they're bigger.
Way bigger.

But I'm meaner.
WAY meaner.
:)

Well, it's almost time to take dinner out of the oven so that's all for now.

Enjoy your families, Peeps.

And Happy Monday.
:)
