A large dose of Xanax didn't hurt, either.

And it went much better than I expected, thankfully.
Especially after my doctor said to me, before the nurse came into the room, and after I asked her if this would be horrible ..... "Well, I wouldn't do it!  It's quite painful.  I think you're crazy.  But then, that's just me and I'm always brutally honest."
And then she left.
And I sat there with my mouth hanging open.

Fortunately the nurse came in quickly and could see that I was ready to climb up the walls.  She said that it really wasn't hard and it wouldn't be bad.
Easy for her to say, because it manages to hurt each week she gives it to me.

She handed me the alcohol wipe and the needle.
She showed me where on my leg to insert it.
She told me to wipe my leg, pinch the skin up and then just stick it in.
And then she said, "One, two, three .... go."

And ummmmm ..... I think I said something like, "No.  No go."
It was a very long and not a very thin needle.
It just hovered over my leg .... not even getting close to being inserted.

Then she told me that she promised it would be much easier than I thought .... I just had to get it through the skin.
And so ..... I did.  Very quickly, which totally surprised me .... and her.
I was stunned.
It didn't hurt nearly as much as it did when she gave them to me.
I slowly pushed the meds down the syringe and the slowly took it out.
She put a cute orange bandaid on my leg and that was it.
I was done.

I didn't even have time to work up a sweat!

So thank you, thank you, thank you Peeps.
Thanks for all of the good thoughts, prayers and encouragement.
It was so great to read texts and e-mails all day telling me that I could do this.
I really didn't think I could ..... but I totally did.
