It Was A Great ....

.... weekend.

We left Saturday morning to go pick up C's daughter at school.  We had a quick lunch and then loaded back up to drive up to the town where Daughters #2 and #3 live.

We went to dinner with D#2 and then headed to the theatre.
The show was really, really good.  Everyone did a wonderful job .... well, everyone except the one woman who stage whispered, into the microphone, "I forgot my line!".  Sheesh.
But other than that .... everyone did a good job.
Of course, Daughter #3 did an AMAZINGLY GREAT job!!!  She was wonderful.  She did an awesome job on her song, as well as with her acting.
She.  Was.  Great.

Of course, you all could think that I am biased.
But .....
I.
Am.
Not.
Not in the least.
:)

Son #3 and I stayed at the daughters' house .... it was our first time to see it.  They moved into it about 3 weeks ago.  It's very cute and roomy.  Well, it's roomy until D#3's dog, Jake enters a room.  Then .... not so much.
Actually, he's a very cute dog ..... but he's still got a lot of puppy in him.  She rescued him from a shelter.  He's a black lab with tons and tons of energy.
But at least he's house broken.
:)

We went to church with the girls .... I always love going to their church.  This was a good weekend because David Crowder was in town so he led the music (he usually does unless he's out on tour with the band).  It was the first time that C and his girls got to see him.

We went to lunch and then C's daughter headed back to school and we said our good byes (D3 had her last performance that afternoon) and then headed to the lake.
It was a short visit but it was good, as it always is.
We grilled burgers for dinner and had Mom and D over.
Then Son #3 found out that we had a VHS of "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas"!!!!
So we popped it in ...... and everyone promptly fell asleep (Mom and D left as it was starting).
No kidding.
I was asleep before the second song and woke up during the last song.
And it was only around 10:00 or so.

We were a pathetic group.

Yesterday C and his Daughter #2 went out on the jet ski for a bit.  Then the lake started to get a bit rough.  I laid out on the dock with C for about an hour, reading ..... or trying to read when he would let me (he loves to talk to me when I'm reading .... just to time how long it will take me to get irritated, which, sadly, isn't long).
After about an hour the clouds came in and a storm was quickly approaching so we put everything away and headed inside .... just in time.  There was a torrential downpour after that.
So we watched tennis (Yay for the US Open!!) and then "Young Frankenstein" and then packed up and headed home.

Son #2 got a job this weekend (can you hear the trumpets sounding in heaven?!) so he worked last night, as did Son #3, who's had a job for a couple of years now).
So I had a quiet evening with C and his daughter ..... with C graciously offering to sit with me and watch some tennis.
He doesn't care for watching tennis.
Give.
Me.
A.
Break.

The man can watch hours and hours of golf????!!!  But not tennis??
What.Ev.Er.

So this morning I gave myself my first shot all alone.
Dang, but that needle is big!
It's at least 2 inches.
It made me gulp a bit when I took the cap off.
Then my hands were shaking as I tried to draw the liquid into the syringe, so that was easier said than done.  To add to the stress of the size of the needle .... the liquid was red.  Red!  Now this isn't usually a problem when I see medicine but when I gave myself the shot last week at the doctor's office, the liquid was clear.  So, of course I'm thinking that I'm getting ready to inject myself with something other than what I should, and I start to wonder how long it will be before someone finds my body in my bathroom? (Paranoid?!  Not much.)
Plus I kept worrying about injecting myself with an air bubble, even though I don't think that's a huge problem when it's going into muscle, rather than a vein.  Don't quote me on that ..... I could be wrong.
And, if I am wrong ...... I don't think I want to know.  Or else I'll have to have some shots of tequila every Tuesday morning, which might make for a very interesting day at work.

We are in the middle of some huge tropical storm, I think.
It's pouring and thundering and the wind is blowing.
I like storms ..... rain storms, anyway.  Now that I've experienced 3 trees falling on our house(s) since we've lived here ..... I'm not so crazy about the hard rain with the hard wind.
It makes people who have 60 foot pine trees in their yard a wee bit nervous.

OK, that's it for today.
OH!!  Except for this ..... both the daughters auditioned for the next play (which will be at the end of Oct) and they both got parts!!!!  I'm very excited to see it!!!  And proud.  Duh.

Happy Tuesday, Peeps.
:)

So your guy is a golfer, eh? Mine is, too (well, he at least shows up on a golf course on a regular basis). You should be glad that C only wants to watch golf on TV - mine likes to find videos on tennis tips on the laptop, as well. Sigh...

Sounded like the daughters are talented -- you have artists in your family, which shouldn't be surprising, since you are a talented artist/writer yourself!
