Dang! Too bad it's not Lent .... that would be a good one, don't you think?
Yes, it's 5:20 a.m. I have been out of bed since 4:40 a.m.
Notice that I didn't use the word "awake".
"Out of bed" and "awake" are two TOTALLY different animals.
I'm not sure how long I've been awake.
It would probably be easier to state how long I slept.
Ummmmmm .... maybe 2 hours.
But not straight.
I cannot remember the last time I had a night of solid sleep.
And no, I'm not talking 8 to 10 hours. Crack me up! Does anyone sleep like that?
And if you do, I hate you.
No, a night of solid sleep? Heck, I'd be ecstatic with 5 hours of SOLID SLEEP.
Solid .... as in, no waking up to look at the clock, no having to turn from one side to the other and thus dragging the pillow between my knees with my turning.
What? My knees are boney and I don't like them touching.
It's not a disorder or anything.
I already checked.
So yes, this is a whiney post about lack of sleep.
All of you 8-solid-hours-of-sleep people can just go read someone else's blog.
But for the rest of you .... all 3 of you .... how in the heck do you function on this amount of
No, "awakeness" is not a word .... I thought I told you well-rested people to leave?!
Any-whoo .... where was I?
Because lack of sleep affects memory, doncha know?
And appetite.
Oh!! I caught the attention of at least 2 well-rested people on that one!
Yes, appetite.
My lack of sleep directly correlates with my lack of appetite. In fact, it makes me feel down right nauseous.
Hey! I could totally come up with a "lack of sleep" diet and make a kazillion dollars!
I'll have to look into that.
If I remember.
On that note .... I'm off.
I have the feeling that I'm supposed to be researching something that has the potential to make me a kazillion dollars.
If I could just remember what it was .....
Happy Thursday, Peeps.

I have the lack of sleep; but unfortunately my lack of sleep leads me to stress and eating (preferably something chocolate) so I need YOUR version of the sleepless diet not mine!!!!!!
wish I could offer some pointers but I can't. Haven't slept a solid night since my husband died. I just assumed it was part of being a widow. Even the meds I was given made me more hyper and I slept less.
In any event; sorry for YOUR lack of alertness/awakefulness, but as always thanks for putting a smile on my face to start my day! Maybe my students won't notice if I'm nodding off if at least I look happy!!!!
Does he sleep, if not maybe consider 4am dates, you can get the early bird special at breakfast...
nodding off during a date? definitely a turn off. so sorry for the insomnia janine. i'm generally one of those people you hate, if i get to sleep at 10 pm (hasn't happened in awhile)...i usually wake up exactly at 6 am, no matter what. unless one of my children wakes me earlier. or God does. what. ev. er. God's blessings, Janine!
You crack me up! Sorry about the lack of sleep but its just the way we are wired...(THANKS MOM!!!!) I am awake every morning between 4 and 5 am, and I too sleep with a pillow between my legs. Exception...I don't have boney knees. Thanks for the ear today! I love you!
Beth .... yep, it's really been an almost constant companion (wakefulness) since Jim died. sigh ....
And you're welcome for the smile. :)
You, too, Dawn. :)
And you're welcome for the ear. Just be sure to give it back soon, OK? I'm really not going to be able to wear my sunglasses without it. And you know how much I LOVE wearing my sunglasses!!
Love you. A lot.
Peter -- I have no idea if the man sleeps. I've only been out with him ONCE, for goodness sake! Don't you think that's a little too personal for the first date?!
:)
Susan --- Oh my friend .... you have indeed placed me in quite the dilemma: I hate her. I hate her not. I hate her. I hate her not. Wait .... I think that works better if I use a daisy. Sheesh .... now I have to go out and look for a daisy! And it's almost 11:30 p.m.!!! And very dry! What are the odds of me finding a daisy at this hour of the night, in any plot of land in Texas?! Thanks a lot, FRIEND!
Oh ... and by the way .... it's 11:30 p.m. and you are NOT in bed asleep. I just saw you post something on FB. Because you know .... we can all stalk each other now with that new-fangled garbage. Well, you can't since you figured out how to put your old FB page back. Or most of it.
:)
