Wildness in the Windy City ....

.... is definitely something which may have caught your attention, but is not something we've experienced. Thankfully. :)

I guess the most wild thng we've noticed is how flippin' freezing it is on the top of a double decker tour bus when it hits a certain area of downtown Chicago. I had forgotten about that wind-tunnel effect that they've got going on here. It's rather difficult to enjoy the sites when you're hunched over in your seat, with the draw strings of your hood drawn so tightly that there's not even a hole big enough to peer through ..... and you don't care!
Fortunately that happened only a couple of times on the ride. We rode that bus for a while, then strolled around Navy Pier, and then took a train from Union Station out to my sister's. Things went pretty well if you don't factor in the whole, what will now be referred to as the "What's-the-right-stop? Debacle of 2011". That's all I'm going to say about that. For now, anyway.
My sister made a wonderful dinner last night and we just sat around talking, watching my nephew perform card tricks, and being frustratingly disappointed by the epic fail of the Texas Rangers to win the Series that they should have won the night before. Twice.
But who's counting?
I took the train back into the city and got back to the hotel around midnight. At midnight ....it was cold.
Pretty. Dang. Cold.

Yes, when you live where it's warm you become quite a weenie when it's cold.
Cold being a relative term. Of course.

I'm meeting up with my sister and her family in a few hurs to take the architectural tour of Chicago. Should be pretty cool. But hopefully not freezing. :)

So that's it for now.
Just wanted to pop in and say hi and give you an update.

Happy Saturday, Peeps. :)

Sounds like you're having a wonderful time, but then you'd probably have a terrific time, no matter where you were, as long as you were together! I don't think that I would even be able to go outside in that Chicago cold. I am one Floridian who definitely starts shivering once it gets below 70*! Honest!!! Been gone from the coooolllld Ohio winters way too long! From that last picture you posted of you two; I am pretty sure that Mr M's arms could keep you pretty warm. He had them wrapped pretty tightly!

Jacquelyn --- First, I did not notice the number of times you used the word "pretty". And thankfully neither you, nor Patty, mentioned the horrific number of typos I had (I hate typing on my iPad)! Thank you ..... both.
Second .... yes, you're right. We could be stuck in a closet and we'd have a wonderful time. Come to think of it, we'd probably have a FABULOUS time if we were to be stuck in a closet! :)

Patty .... Thank you. I'm over the moon for us, too. :)

Debacle? I will admit that I MIGHT have made a small error...but you made it, and I made it, and I am so glad I got to see you if only for a short time. I love you more than words can say!

The ability to travel together is a huge test in a relationship. I cannot believe you've decided to embark on this so early on and I cannot believe you two have succeeded at this so early on. I don't know, Janine. I think this sounds pretty mayjah. I'm frickin' happy for you.
