I'm At Home ....

.... but my bag is not.
How does an airline lose a big, bright lime green suitcase?!  REALLY???!!!
(Although .... now that I think about it .... they could've been tipped off by my complaint last week in this post.  Yikes.)

I got home yesterday and waited and waited and waited, thinking, "Of course.  My bag is the last one off of the plane."
Well, it was the last one alright.  Somewhere.  I wish I knew where because my stomach hurts when I think about all of the stuff I packed in it:  several medications, several pairs of shoes .... including my favorite pair of high heels that I wore with a formal dress .... that is also in that bag.  A bottle of my favorite (at the moment) perfume.  A large bottle.  A large, not cheap bottle.  Almost all of my good underwear.  (Yes, as opposed to bad.)  The grieving & faith books that I used for my workshop.  My new red  "Widows Rock!" coffee mug.  A lot of clothes ..... most of them dirty.
I am sad.
And a little bit angry.
I think I may be more than a little bit angry tomorrow if I find out that it's still "being traced".

Other than that .... it's good to be home.
And caught back up with "Survivor" .... the one show this season that I've been able to keep up with.
I'm so glad that those women stayed united (not my favorite word at the moment .... ) long enough to vote off Troy.  I suspect they will now all turn against one another.  Which is a bit sad, but as one of them said on tonight's show, "There can only be one winner."  Kind of like "The Hunger Games".
Except if you pretend that you and your fake boyfriend are going to commit suicide.
But I digress.

And yet .... it does occur to me that no one on "Survivor" can stand anyone else enough to want to share a million bucks, let alone pretend to eat poisonous berries to be united (there's that word again .... still don't  like it) throughout all eternity with a fake love.

Although ..... they will have to share it with the government.
But that's another post for another time.
And another identity.

Now where was I .... and how far back was I there?
Oh .... there can only be one winner.

Indeed.  Which is the reason my strategy, if I were ever to be on that show .... which I won't, but IF I were, I'd volunteer to be voted off first so that I could go hang out at the resort where they hide everyone until they finish filming.  I'm nothing if not practical.  And there's no way on God's green earth that I would EVER go that long without being able to shave.

That's enough about "Survivor".  In fact, it was far too much.
On to the next thought.

I cannot believe that next week it will be May.
What happened to April?!

OK, as in the days of yore ..... if you consider 2-3 years ago "yore" ..... and I do ..... I am going to leave you all with a question.
No, I'm not going anywhere, but I am long overdue on the questions.

Not to worry .... it's easy.
Although it may bring up some rough emotions.

Have you every had an airline lose your bag?
If so, for how long?  Or did you never see it again?
(I'm really hoping that none of you never saw your bag again.  I think that may make me sob.  At least a little.)
Where were you and what did you have to do without?

Yes, I know that's more than one question, but how boring will it be if you all just answer yes or no?!

There you go.
You have been asked.
Now .... discuss amongst yourselves .... and then entertain us.
Please.
:)

Happy Wednesday, Peeps.

My son flew from Boston to Miami last month to catch a cruise for spring break. He offered to gate check his bag because the overhead storage was limited. His bag never showed up in Miami, or so the luggage attendant said on Saturday night. He was advised to return on Sunday to check the next two flights from Boston. No luggage, clothes from Goodwill so he would have something to wear on the cruise. After he returned to Boston, the Miami Dade police called to tell him that American had video surveillance of two males taking bags off the carousel on Saturday night. Luggage is gone! I am sad for him because he had some special items in his luggage that are not replaceable. He isn't as sad, I guess because he is young. I'm sorry your bags are lost. I hope they turn up!

On my last trip to Florida, to see my mom, Delta lost my luggage going down AND coming back. I got to pay $25.00 each way to check that bag. They found it and delivered it within 24 hours, so they did not refund my money. For me it was a more than just annoying, it was very inconvenient. I wrote a letter and asked for a refund of my baggage fee, even though it was returned within the 24 hour period, since they lost it twice. I heard nothing from them.

No, but I could count on my hands (well, and my maybe a foot) the amount of times I've flown in my (almost) 38 years. No where near the amount of traveling you've done.

I hope they find it soon.

Lost our bags on a non-stop flight from BOS to SFO for which we were two hours early for departure. Not sure how that happened. Got them delivered at about 5AM the next day to a winery in Napa. Had to do without makeup or proper clothes to wear out to dinner the evening before, but no biggie. Also lost one once on a return business flight, and it was on my porch when I got home from work the next morning!

I have your suitcases! I love lime green, but I'll send you your stuff! Seriously, though, I have had mine catch up with me several hours later, but never lost for good. I hope and pray that yours show up! Really! Lime green and lost?

Bags lost on way to BVI's sailing vacation. Had to do without, but luckily on a boat where little clothing needed. Bag found several days later, it had been flying around the Caribbean. Suggestion, do not pack meds in anything other than your carry on or purse. Glad your bag found it's way home, dirty clothes and all!
