Whenever all of the kids are home they break out the Wii and start "Just Dancing". I have 4 or 5 of them. No, not Wiis, but "JD" "games". Sheesh.
And no, I didn't buy them for myself ..... that would just be weird. And dust-collecting.
I haven't purchased a new one in quite a while .... kind of dropped the ball on that, I guess. I say that because I heard, more than once, "Is this the newest one?"
Guess these are "oldies" now.
But still oh so fun to watch being done.
Notice that I used the word "watch".
That's what I usually do.
Actually, that's what I've always done.
But last night I decided to not be a stick-in-the-mud and participate.
I think I threw a hip.
Not really.
Yes, I did participate, not really on the hip thing. Although you never know. Sometimes it takes a day or so before whiplash sets in.
It was fun.
For about the first 20 seconds.
And then it was hot.
Incredibly hot and sweat-inducing.
Which either means that I need to turn the heat down in this house, or those are some really hard dance games.
Or ..... that I need to get my butt moving more than it has this past week. I think the farthest I've walked is from my chair to the DVD player. But hey, I've done that multiple times!
And now that I think about it, the walk from the chair in the Family Room to my bedroom is further away than the one to the DVD player (though not to the DVD player AND back).
I've also walked to the mailbox ... 2 days.
Oh, and this morning I took the recycling down to the curb (that required more than 3 trips with 3 people helping ..... have I told you how very much I hate wrapping presents?! ---- taking a deep breath now and moving on ....).
And I've been loading and unloading the dishwasher. That counts for some bends and twists.
Do not mock me!
Son #3 and I usually run the dishwasher once or twice a week. It's been run once or twice a day, every day this week!
So anyway ..... I had fun, even though I wasn't very good (I know ...... you're shocked) and I sweat up a storm. I did two dances in a row. And then I think I saw a bright light and started feel like I was moving out of my body so I stopped.
The dancing did not stop however, so I had a great time watching.
The kids are still here but we're down one friend and the second leaves today.
It's been great to have such a full house. Even with two dogs. The pet hair? It usually ends up driving me berserk, but I'm doing better with it this time.
Most likely because in a couple of weeks I'll have 2 dogs here permanently. And I know that the pet hair is going to be insane, but I'm choosing to give that up. Unless it all groups together and comes alive. And don't think there's not enough to make that possible.
In other exciting news (please note that "exciting" is a relative term) ...... we managed to get 3 of the kids' car titles switched into their names this morning. I made them get up at the crack of dawn (which seems to be 8:30) so we could leave by 9 to go to the bank. We had to some of the paperwork notarized there. Then I sent them off to the DMV, when I should've sent them off to the courthouse next door. I had them dress warm and take along something to do.
And asked them to text me to let me know how long the line looked.
Daughter #3 texted this to me: "We are going to die here."
I chuckled and told them I'd bring dinner and sleeping bags. And then, thank the Lord, they saw a sign telling them that all registration stuff was handled at the court house ...... next door.
She texted me, telling me that they were going over there (I think they thought it was a temporary thing). I felt horrible!!! And fessed up right away. I. Am. SO. Glad ...... that they didn't wait in that long line at the DMV!!! I think I would've had to find a hotel for the next day or so.
So, they went to the courthouse and were done in less than 30 minutes. Whoop!!!
And here's the kicker ..... they are the first, out of anyone else here, or anyone else to whom I've sold/donated a car ...... who got it done in one trip to the courthouse. One! Triple Whoop!!
Let's see ...... what else can I tell you to top that exciting news? We all went to see "Les Mis" on Christmas. I loved it. All except for Amanda Seyfried's singing, which I found painful at times. Cossette is such a bland part ..... she's a drip. I'd hate to have to play that part. Not that I have to worry about it, I guess, since my agent never called to say I was up for an audition. Dang her.
Wait ...... I just remembered.
I don't have an agent.
Boy, is she lucky to off the hook!
Anywhoo ..... Mom and D came over for Christmas and the movie. Christmas tradition.
Mom and D. And a movie.
I think the girls and I are going to see "Silver Linings Playbook" today. I hope it's good. We may also slip a pedicure in there, but I'm wondering if that's going to work since I have warm boots on my feet and can't see wearing those paper-thin flip flops out in public when it's barely above 40.
Besides, no one sees my toes in the winter time.
And another besides, my feet are so dry and is such rough shape ( get it? ROUGH shape? HA!) that I'd be highly embarrassed to have another person see them that up close.
But, the daughters will probably win out on this one.
And if so, I'll most likely have to post a picture if my feet look beautiful.
If I remember.
Which means you most likely won't get a glimpse of them.
I know. I hate disappointing you.
Keep hoping!
And happy Thursday, Peeps.
:)

Update:
So it looks like you guys are so overcome with the excitement down this way that you're speechless. Or comment-less.
I know. I have that effect on people.
So we did go see "Silver Linings Playbook" and liked it.
And ....... tah dah!!!!!
This is a really horrible picture of Daughter #3's toes, but I was trying to be sneaky. Sneakiness doesn't always pay.
And these are mine. You can't see them well enough to tell that the color is a deep red with sparkles. Yes, my toes are sparkly. It's just too much for one day, isn't it? You can tell that R.G. is absolutely thrilled by all of the hubbub.
Or not.
