We are back at the clinic & again we had a crowd before we arrived. Each day surpasses the day before. Yesterday I enjoyed the company of several children. It's funny, most children younger than 2 are petrified of us (most have never seen whites). But there were several young children who glued themselves to my side once I smiled & waved. Apple's P.R. team should totally give me a call because I showed a 3 yr old my iPhone & she had it mastered in minutes! I have some great pics of her.
Today I'll continue the list of things I've learned but I must preface it. Many comments have
been made calling me
amazing. They make me smile because I don't feel amazing at all. But I am totally
amazed at how amazing God is!! He performs nothing short of a miracle in me daily. I am not what one considers a "camping girl" (ask anyone who knows me). I do not enjoy the challenge of "roughing it". But here I am, not giving a second thought to the swarm of bugs flying & crawling all over our room. Or the end of fresh water yesterday. Or the lack of warm water. Last night we took baths out of a bucket -- and it was great! Each day God throws a new challenge at me -- guess He thinks I need to grow! And so far I've hardly even blinked--I've just thought, "OK, let's do it!" Please know that I am NOT saying this to state how awesome I am, but how awesome God is because -- this is SO not me!! I am in awe of what He's doing in me!
Which leads me to my list (very partial list):
1. I know that I CAN do anything (& happily) when I'm doing God's will.
2. Kenyan children have the patience of Job.
3. You find cell phones in the most amazing places!
4. Electricity is an awesome convienence.
5. Kenyan & Texans have an all-together different idea about about "hot" & "cold" weather (or hot & cold anything)!
And last but certainly not least:
6. America has GREAT restrooms!
OK, time to go to work. Oh, and by the way, I have not one single mosquito bite yet. Good luck? Great job of spraying? I think not (cuz I've actually been less than diligent w/ that). Trust me, there are billions of them here but God must be a whole lot stronger than Deet!

Janine,
I didn't know you could even receive comments but here goes. I've so enjoyed reading about your experience there and I hope that you will come back and give a testimony during church one Sunday. What an incredible journey God has taken you on and thanks to your blog, so many others too. I found myself teary eyed reading about the 85yr old man and I don't get too emotional first thing in the morning. I'm praying for you and happy to hear you are feeling better.Love,Natalie
