Uh-oh

I am SO glad that I'm not a teenager living in my house. Guess what came yesterday?
Gulp -- the cell phone bill.
THE phone bill.
You know, the one from last month.
When I was in Kenya.
Making posts on my blog.
Ummmm, guess I should've checked with AT&T to see what, if any, charges would apply overseas for internet usage.
Cuz it was a lot.
A. LOT.
So it would be very nice if everyone who read the blog while I was gone (and enjoyed it?) would ...........
(don't worry, I'm not going to ask for money!) .......... post a comment so that I can show the dear hubby that it was worth it (?).

And to think I was soooo proud of myself for not making a single phone call. Sheesh.

I was wondering about that!!! I asked Daughter # 2 and she said, "No! It's free! It's just like if you had your laptop you could access the internet for free wherever there's wireless!"

I knew it was too good to be true.

But it was TOTALLY worth it anyway. It was good to hear that not only were you alive, you were loving Kenya.

I love you! And I'll call you later when I'm done!

J,
I wanted to let you know how awesome it was to have real time updates of your Kenya experience. It was inspiring for me as well as the thousands of people throughout the world who were changed forever by receiving up to the minute reports of the trip. Delayed communications can not compare with the power of your satellite feeds.

(How's that sound as a witness for the defense?)

I am a friend Mr. J, therefore I choose to remain anonymous.

I looked forward to your blog everyday!! It was nice to know that you were ok and that you were loving the time spent there. You helped alot of people that other wise would not have been and we got to read and see it first hand! And dear hubby...please don't have Guido rug her out! You will still have to pay the bill! LOL

How else would we have known where you were?????? We didn't even realize you were in Africa until we read the blog. It was so worth it and I'll bet if he crunches the numbers it was a savings vs. say a shopping trip for stuff you would only wear once. You sure didn't spend any money at fancy restaurants either. Most importantly, the work you did there was priceless.

And how much did the trip of a lifetime cost you? Oh yeah, you had to pay for a shot here, a visa there but I am sure the phone bill couldn't compare to an airline ticket to Kenya! Ask the tax man if you can write it off as part of your expenses for your new job position. Now of course I could be sarcastic and talk about how it changed my life and I plan to go on the next trip, ya da ya da ya da. But seriously, did I see where you are planning a next trip? Because that is something I would consider praying about and it IS all because you blogged so beautifully while you were there. It touched my soul each and every time I read it-that's the truth.

Well, you know how much you touched me daily, because I told you often. And Jim, being the wonderful husband, father and son-in-law that he is, will without doubt pay it gladly and cheerfully! What a guy!!
