.... I am writing a post.
It's 12:30 a.m. here ..... and I'm still up.
It's basically been a good day. And that's pretty huge, considering that I still felt ill while I was playing tennis. I seem to have some intestinal thing and it's not a whole lot of fun to play tennis while feeling the need to race to the restroom every 30 minutes or so. Yes, way to much information, but there ya go, Peeps ..... that's why you read, right?
I played well, in spite of ..... well, you know. So that was good.
Then I had my nails done, so at least that mask is in place.
Then I came home and laid down for the rest of the afternoon. I ended up sleeping until 6:00, when my sister woke me up to let me know it was time to get ready and leave for the event we were going to that night.
Oh ..... I forgot to mention ...... I got a call on Monday from my regular doctor about my blood work last week. It seems that I am anemic. So I had to go in for more blood work yesterday so they could run three more tests to see if I needed to come in for a B12 shot. I haven't heard back yet, but the anemia explains a lot ..... especially the extraordinarily long naps I seem to need lately. And the fact that I feel quite lethargic. It's nice to know it's not all in my head. Not all of the time, anyway.
So we went to the crisis pregnancy event to support them. We were only there 2 hours or so and I was quite tired by the end of it.
We then made an exciting trip to Home Depot so that I could buy 2 new toilet seats (I'm not sure what the boys are doing to their toilet seats but they need replacing .... desperately), and new drawer pulls for their rooms and bathrooms.
I know, I know .... the excitement is about to kill you, isn't it?
Just wait ... it only gets better. Tomorrow morning my brother, sister and I are going to put the girls' room in order (since everything is stacked in the middle of the room) and put Son #1's room in order (because .... ditto) since the three of them will be home tomorrow night. We want them to come home to a nicely painted room with beds all ready for them.
Hopefully we can get this knocked out in just a couple of hours so that I can take one of my unusually long naps.
We shall see.
Son #2 and #3 are at Jim's dad's farm this week in Oklahoma. They are having a great time. They seem to be getting a lot of testosterone time, which is something they need, I guess, and something I can't .... or won't.... give them.
Son #2 sent me these two pictures of their manliness tonight.
Brace yourselves:

Yes, they are shooting guns, which --- if you read this post --- you probably realize how much I abhor this activity .... and they are shooting poor defenseless bunnies. They were hoping for coyotes tonight, which I guess would save a few more roadrunners, but only if you were a child of the late 60's and get that. Anyway, they are having a great time and I'm glad. They've begged me all summer to go up there, but I just couldn't do it. It's too painful to think of going there again. The last time I was there, after Jim died, was to be by the bedside of his mother as she died. I was glad to be there for her .... and for Jim's dad and siblings, although it hurt like hell ..... and I was very jealous of her .... knowing that she would soon be seeing Jim ..... way before me.
So I am not ready to go there again. Not yet.
But I was glad to be able to send the boys. They need time with their grandfather, and I think he needs time with them.
So, all in all, a good day. In spite of feeling a bit ill and a lot tired. I mostly feel a lot loved and a lot blessed. I am feeling supported, and protected and more secure. Which makes me also feel that I am still healing.
Day by day.
Minute by minute.
One breath at a time.
And you, my Peeps, have a lot to do with that ..... so thank you.
And speaking of healing ...... little Stellan had a better day today. He may not have to go to Boston after all.
Here is Jennifer's latest post.
So please keep praying.
Evidently you're doing quite a good job.
Have a great Friday, my Peeps.
I think I will.

What a great week for the boys at their grandfather's. Every picture tells a story!
Wow Anemic, I wonder if it is hereditary (sp) ???? I've been feeling the same way lately. It's probably all in my head though. Oh well...glad the boys are having fun in OK Son#2 looks sooooo manly holding the rabbit. LOL Poor bunnies...are they going to clean cook and eat them now? eeeeewwwwwwww...Have fun putting rooms back together. They will be so surprised it is done. Love you tons my dear Sister. Have a great weekend with the kids. Hugs and kisses to them all.
i think it's always good to hear there is a reason for the way you feel. i swear i have an underperforming thyroid, but my doctor just assures me that i am instead suffering from clinical overeating. shoot.
glad to hear you've had a productive week and frankly even if you weren't anemic, i think i'd be exhausted after all of that painting and rearranging.
have a blessed weekend and welcome home to the boys. (if you kill a coyote, do you have to eat it?? ewwww. not that eating bunnies sounds much better)
I'm so glad to know that you are feeling... content. Still reading your blog every day, still enjoying every word, still praying for you.
Something I hope makes you smile...

I come from a family of hunters, so it doesn't shock me, but I will definitely NOT let C see these pictures as I'm sure she'll picture her pet bunny Dusty. LOL!
I have that same intestinal thing you're talking about, my older two had it this week and another friend did as well. Must be making the circuit. Hope to see you soon!
Poor defenseless bunnies indeed! I hope they're at least going to eat them!!
