Day One in Paradise ....

     Well, Peeps ..... I made it to San Diego.  Very uneventfully, which for me .... is a very good thing.

The plane ride was quiet .... I read the entire trip.  Got here early this afternoon and walked outside in 80 degree weather.  

Oh.  My.  Goodness.

     J and S picked me up, although S doesn't really count because she was sound asleep in her car seat and didn't wake up until we were in the neighborhood.  

She has grown so much since January!

     My father-in-law is here, too.  Our trips our overlapping a bit so that we can spend some time together.  I haven't seen him since last spring, when my mother-in-law died.  He seems to be doing well.  He's enjoyed his trip out here and spending time with S.

     Today was a good day .... until we were leaving our dinner at the club here.  My father-in-law was walking in front of Sophie and me and a woman who was there asked Sophie if we were her grandparents.

Yes.  Seriously.  

My father-in-law is 84.  

I hated this woman in an instant.

Oh well.

     We hung around the pool this afternoon ..... here are some pics:

Son #1 and I rode in one of these balloons a few years ago when I brought him out here.  It was amazing.

Maybe I'll do it again.

So there you have it .... Day One.

S is now in bed, the rest of us are hanging in our pjs and relaxing.  The windows are open and the air outside is cool.

I feel at peace.

And that's something.
