Unfortunately, the entire team didn't play so well and we lost ..... by quite a bit. But they gave it a good effort and hopefully the season will only get better.
My sister, nephew and niece came to cheer him on, as did my good friend K (who is also more like a sister to me) and her kids. It felt wonderful to have friends/family there to share the game with D#1, S#2 and me. In fact, I didn't spend one moment feeling bad that Jim wasn't there. It didn't occur to me, which is good, but also feels sad .... if that makes any sense. He's no longer taking up my every thought or breath. Not every one. He hasn't for a while, but this seems to be a major event for me in which he didn't.
Not that I didn't think of him .... I did, and even talked about him for a bit .... but I didn't get overwhelmed or sad that he wasn't there to share this with me.
I guess that means I'm moving forward.
Some days.
And I guess that's something.
Right?

Good evening my darling daughter. Dang I hate that we missed the football game. We were both looking forward to it. Did you get pics?
We love you bunches.
Mom,
I'm glad you didn't come .... it was hotter than hot. You would have been miserable.
And nope, I forgot the camera ... I took a couple with my phone but it doesn't zoom so they aren't any good.
Hopefully the weather will be a little cooler before the next one.
Love you!
right :) 'tis bittersweet tho, isn't it...
Yes, it sounds like you are moving forward and like your friend said..it is bittersweet but it's good for you and for those who love you...glad he decided to go ahead and play ball. You are such a good mother, you really are. I could only divide myself between two and don't think I did a very good job and you have managed six...I am so impressed by people who manage to divide themselves so well and you have done it well. Thier lives attest to that fact. Blessings on your week end. Glad the report from the doctor was so good.
Love you sooooo much Janine...and yes...it is something.
Yes, it IS something. I know just what you mean. Moving forward (when you realize that this IS what you are doing) can be poignant, too. {{HUGS}} -- now coming from MN!
