Yes .... I Survived .....

.... in fact, I did more than survive .... I had a great time.

The weather was amazing .... sunny, lows in the 50's, highs in the 70's. It was perfect camping weather.

We ate, talked, canoed, ate, talked, played games, ate, talked, read, ate, watched the kids swim (!), ate, talked, ate, talked and ate some more.

And we are all a bit sad this morning when it was time to pack up and head home.

We don't get a lot of this beautiful, perfect-temperature weather down here. Soon the humidity will rise and so will the degrees. Spring usually lasts about 2 weeks and then we're in full-blown summer.

So it was great to be outside and enjoying spring.

Especially with friends.

One alligator was sighted (in the water as we canoed, NOT by our tents).

So was an armadillo.

One tree frog was captured.

No snakes made an appearance (thank You, God).

No children were lost.

No trips to the hospital were made .... a first for this group, though one small child was skinned up over and over again while riding his bike. Bless his heart, he'd cry, get a bandaid and then get right back on. Gotta love the determination.

The women ran away for a short while Saturday, to go to Wal-Mart and get a cherry limeade from Sonic. : )

We had gourmet s'mores ..... which consisted of carmel marshmallows, dark chocolate and graham crackers. Oh. My. Goodness.

The kids were all great .... no one got mad or upset (much) or too poutty.

Of course, this morning I think every single child was past being tired and ready for a long nap.

As were the adults.

It seems that fresh air takes a lot out of you!

All in all, a very good weekend.
