Another Day ....

.... another airport.  :)

I'm sitting in the San Diego airport, which is wonderful because they have free wi fi (hello, Houston Intercontinental???).
However ... it, along with the rest of this city ... does not like AT&T.  My phone has no service.  I'd love to know what AT&T did to tick off an entire city .... or how much Verizon paid to make it love them.  Anyone I mentioned this problem to who lives in San Diego acknowledged that it's true.
Weird.

As I was packing this morning this was the weather report:
"Today will be worst day of this heat wave."
(The high was supposed to be 90.  I will refrain from adding further comment to that statement.)
"This is the last day for this heat.  Cooler temperatures arrive tomorrow and continue to drop each day this week."
(Well, of course they do.  Because I am leaving today.  Sigh ....)

I have been accused of bringing this heat with me.  And with that announcement on the news, I'm starting to wonder if I really did.  Brought it with me .... taking it back with me.  Ugh.

I am feeling the exhaustion set in.  But only when I sit down, which I only did once this morning when I went to talk with Michele and Dana before we all left.  The longer I sat, the more exhausted I felt.
The flight home should be a rip-roaring experience for whoever is sitting next to me.  I'm just hoping I don't snore.
Or drool.

Just so you know, the exhaustion is worth it.  I know the other board members feel the same way and two of them are WAY more exhausted than the rest of us.  Michele and Dana worked their buns off, before and after Camp, and are surviving on very, very little sleep.  For like the last 2 weeks.  Seriously.

After everyone left yesterday we started packing up all of the Soaring Spirits stuff.  I think we did that until close to 2:00.  At that point we became way too giddy (from lack of sleep) to get anything accomplished, except maybe wetting our pants from laughing too hard.
Or maybe that was just me.

Anyway, we finally went down to get something to eat, said goodbye to Rachel and then went to put on our swimsuits so that we could finally enjoy the lovely pool.  It was my first time to swim in over a week of being in San Diego.
It felt nice.

We went to dinner and chatted about the weekend.  Then we headed to our rooms, intending to meet up later at the hot tub.
But Michele and Dana went to finish the packing and Michelle fell asleep and I started to.
We are SO exciting.

It's now time for me to board .... and take a nap .... maybe.
It was a great weekend.
With over two hundred really great people.
Who hopefully now have a little more hope than they had when they arrived.

And THAT is something.
:)

Happy Monday, Peeps.
See you in the hot (and I mean really hot, not "San Diego hot") and humid Houston.
:)

  1. I am exhausted and all I did was attend camp, not do all the pre and post work, not to mention work during it (although it WAS me who called to find out where you were for your workshop!!!) Hope your flight home was a lot smoother than mine, an hour late leaving San Diego and then another hour leaving Phoenix on my connecting flight. SO appreciative of all you and the entire SSLF board does. You all really do make such a difference, and really do give so many such hope!!!!
