zonked

This is a picture of Jim that many people have seen --- in their own homes. Usually it was just my family and a holiday. This was at Dad & Carol's house, circa 1984. He continued to use this same position over the years, although at church he'd bow his head (not every Sunday). This is how you knew he was totally comfortable with you -- he'd pass out cold. So --- c'mon -- admit it ---- how many of you have seen this in real life?
I don't think you can get mad in heaven, but if you can --- he is. :)
I need to make a clarification on yesterday's post. Son #1 did not do ALL of the things on the list -- just the porch. He used the power washer on the porch but didn't do the rest of the house. So don't give him a halo just yet. He did a great job, no doubt, but he didn't go overboard and do the entire list!!
I'm taking the boys and Daughter #1 and heading to the lake tomorrow. We need some time away. Even if we ALL don't think so and aren't talking to some of us.
Five are going .... four may come back. Alive.
'Nuff said.

I wish I could go.

Instead I'll be writing a paper.

My thoughts exactly on the first paragraph. I guess I better delete the pic of me on the halibut trip holding my first and only catch of the day,(because you all know how I spent the rest of that trip!) or it's going to be splattered on our blog the minute I hit the pearly gates!!!
Uh-huh...I see how you guys are!
Hope you are "sailing ahead" and you all have a happy weekend at the lake house.
XOXO

Yes, that picture does look pretty familiar. LOL A holiday tradition. Have a peaceful and uneventful time at the lake. I love you.

Well I think #1 has done his part, now #'s 2+3 can do the rest of the house! Just kidding!
My husband always spoke fondly about how Jim would fall asleep in bright daylight every campout but it also involved a Wall Street Journal in his lap. Of course he never would have taken a photo of Jim in that position, not out of respect, but because he always forgot to take the camera! The one time he did take our video camera, Jim called me at home to tell me he had found our video camera after my gang had packed up and left! Have fun at the lake and I hope you ALL return safely!

Janine,
It has been a few days since I read your thoughts on this blog. As I began to read tonight the strong emotion I felt was love. Your deep love for Jim. Deep like a deep river. Strong and powerful. I feel such a sense of awe that you let us into your heart. I feel like I'm sitting on the bank of the Mississippi (I've done this) watching something very quiet yet very powerful. Your love for Jim - beyond words.

So - my impression of you has water and movement (sailboats and rivers). I have no conclusion about that.

You are a beautiful sister, whom I am blessed to call friend.

I appreciate your comments about the Christian walk / life.

Enjoy the lake.
