Today we took the kids and drove to La Jolla, which is very nearby.  Here are some shots:

     After we saw the sea lions we went shopping.  Well, I went shopping.  Everyone else hit Starbucks and a candy shoppe (see, a fancy place with 2 p's and an e .... are you impressed?)

I spent way too much money at one of my favorite places to shop in the world, Fresh Produce.

I only get to hit this store once a year or so, so I have to do my best.  I think I made them quite happy today.  Jim's up there groaning.  

     Then we came home for lunch and in time to help S make the transition to a "big girl bed".  Son #1 put the rails together (no small feat) and they put them on her bed.  She was SO excited.  She did a great job with her nap.  She was just now getting unhappy about going to bed for the evening and I asked, "Do you get to sleep in your big girl bed?!" and she got excited all over again!  She ran back to her room.  I'd love to tell J & L that this will last forever, but who am I to burst their bubble?  

Besides, they got themselves into this parenthood thing, they can certainly navigate themselves through it!

I just like to sit back and grin.

Tomorrow the kids and I get up at the crack of dawn and head to Disney Land.
