Today was a good day. I played tennis -- not as well as yesterday, but not as poorly as on Wednesday.
It's all relative.
But most of the day I spent with good friends.
I love my friends.
I also decided to do this to our wedding bands, which I'd worn since the morning I took Jim to the hospital and had to take his:
I don't know I did this at this point ---- I thought I'd wear them on my fingers a whole lot longer -- it just felt right. I seem to be going with my gut a lot more than I used to. I mean, I always have relied on that, but not as freely as I do now.
So now my left ring finger is bare. Except for the white line around it where my ring used to be. And the same for my middle finger, where I wore his ring.
Another milestone.
Not a good one, but it's there.
Oh, and before I go .... Son #3 made the A team in football!!! He played on the C team last year and his coaches said he had improved a lot (and I thought he played great last year!). He was very proud ..... as am I.
As is Jim.
That's all ---- I think that's more than enough for one day.

Hey Sis,
I think the ring is lovely and what a beautiful idea. Sometimes when I'm reading your blog, I find myself thinking about what I would do, or how I would react if I was in your shoes and had lost my beloved best friend and husband. It helps me to understand and put into perspective how you must feel. It's painful for me to even THINK about, so I can only imagine how excruciating it must be to have it forced upon you, and to feel like there is no escape.
I am just so thankful that you are blessed with such wonderful friends nearby who take good care of you. I wish I could hug each one of them!
As for Son #2, this is going to be a hard lesson for him, but you ARE doing the right thing. He needed the wake-up call and it sounds like he's getting it! You're a GREAT mother, Janine, and don't you ever doubt it. Do you remember when I told you that if anything ever happened to me and Tosh, that I would want YOU to take my daughters? I would never have said that if you weren't a wonderful mom!
I love you tons and hope to see you soon:)

Ooops! WAY TO GO to one of my favorite nephews! I would love to see you play!
wow, the rings, brings tears . . .
Yours and Jim's rings look beautiful together. Do you have your engagement ring to wear on your ring finger? I only have a wedding band but was just wondering.
Way to go son#3-that is a huge accomplishment to make the A team.
You'll have to post a schedule so he can have his own cheerleading section!
Good afternoon my darling daughter. What a great idea for your rings! I raised such an inventive girl!
And Son #3!! Woo hoo! Papa and I can hardly wait to watch you play! We're excited!
oh yes....THESE STINKING LOVE BUGS SUCK!! I can't even walk out the door without getting bombarded by them. How long does this last?!?
Love you bunches!
They look really good, Mommy.
I'll see you soon and talk to you sooner. Love you VERY much!

Hey! I commented on your post and then put the ooops comment. What happened to the first one? Did I say something wrong? Or did it just not go through? Hummmm...I'm going with it didn't go through. I love what you did with the rings. It's a beautiful symbol of the love you shared. I love you J, soooooooo much!
