Training Day

So today was training day for Gabby.  I hired someone to come here and teach me to train her.  He taught me to growl at her.  No kidding.  And what's more ..... it actually works!
He was here for over 2 hours (in spite of my swollen face and aching jaw .... guess he didn't know what my face looked like not swollen!) and it was very interesting.  She picked it up quickly and I was surprised.
I will give you the website, just in case you're interested.  It is not cheap but they guarantee their training for the life of the dog --- even if you give/sell the dog to someone else.  You can call them at any time and they'll come back as often as you need them to.  They come for one 2 1/2 hour visit, then come a week later.  Then I think he comes in a month or so and then about 3 months after that.  I'm not sure how often it is after that.
Anyway, I always knew she's a smart puppy!  It's amazing what you can accomplish with just a growl.  I wish I'd have known that about 20 years ago --- I totally would've used it on the kids!!
Back to the jaw --- yes, it still hurts.  Like a big dog.  And it seems more swollen today than yesterday.  I called the dentist today to ask about it.  And now they are certain that I am certifiably crazy.

Dentist's Office:  Good morning, Dr. So and So's office, this is S. speaking.  How may I help you?
Me:  Hi S, this is txmomx6.
Her:  Hi tx .... how are you?
Me:  Well, that's why I'm calling.  Not so well, but maybe this is normal.  My mouth is still very sore and my face seems to be more swollen today than yesterday.  I wasn't sure if I should call about it but I figured that since today is Friday I'd better go ahead and call in case there is a problem.
S:    ...........  Um, Txmomx6?  It's Wednesday.
Me: ......   Oh.  OK.

She asked the dentist anyway, who said to wait until tomorrow and see how it looks/feels.  I may never go back again.

Another admission that proves my insanity:  I had to call the insurance company the other day.

Them:  OK, so what is your Son #3's birthdate?
Me:  Ummmm, April 20, 1994.
Them:  April 20?
Me:  Ummmmmmmmmmmm ....... no.

And here's where I tell you that I have no child with a birthday in April.  Not a one.  His birthday is nowhere near April.  And it's not 0n the 20th.

I think I need a very, very long vacation on a very quiet beach somewhere.

And a brain transplant.

Help me.

LOL... as a mom of 4, I am thanking God I am not the only one with days like this... though mine usually have to do with someone making a mess somewhere (mine are all under 10)! Thanks for the laugh and reminder we are all in the same boat!

I would love to lose about 50 lbs and invite Cesar Milan to my house to train my dogs!! Ooo-la-la!!
Anyway, As for your jaw...are you on antibiotics??? If so, sometimes the swelling can get worse before it gets better. I know you know this, but continue to take them until they are GONE. If you are not taking them, maybe you should be?? Are you taking Ibuprofen??? (for anti-inflammatory??)It will help too.
Hope you get better soon!
Well, I am off to adopt my "Morris". HE is way too cute! Thanks again!
