Our Last Day ....

... has been nice. It's been a beautiful day. The temperature was 41 when we set out for lunch, but the sky was blue and the sun was out so it seemed warmer than that. The air smells great here ... really fresh and clean.
Today I saw an apple orchard, a giant cow (that M made me pretend to milk for a picture) and sides of beef hanging outside a store.
Seriously.
Just hanging outside the store .... don't know how long they're going to hang there but there ya go. Life in Minnesota ... you betcha.
M and I rented "New in Town" last night .... it was very good and it was hilarious if you've ever been/lived in this state. I loved all of the women in appliqued sweat shirts ... they're all over down here. The movie is a great chick flick .... if you haven't seen it and like chick flicks ... go get it.
I've got to finish packing and then we leave early in the morning for the airport.
I never thought I'd say this ... but I think I will miss the cooler weather!
I know!!
OK, Peeps .... the next time you'll hear from me (other than my Tweets) I'll be back in Texas (I want you to know that I refrained from writing, "back in God's country" because that is SO Texan and if there's one thing I am NOT .... at least not yet, it's a Texan).
Here's a question for youse guys (as my sister-in-law from Chicago would say -- Hi K!) --- what's the coldest temperature you've ever been in?
As for me, I'm not sure .... I'll have to refer to Mom on this one .... I'm not sure how cold it got in Tulsa when I was little, but I do remember a few blizzards.
How about you? What's the lowest low you remember?
See you later, Peeps.
Happy Tuesday.
:)

I remember a 60 below the first winter I lived in Chicago. I was newly married, so homesick and planning to drive home in the AM in an Old Dodge Dart. I went outside every hour to start and run the car for 20 minutes through the night so I could really leave to go "home". Seemed a small price to pay, but then again, I grew up in Michigan. :)

M & I experienced 58 degrees below zero in Craig, Colorado. That was not the wind chill. That was the actual temperature. We stayed home and inside the house that day.

In Northern Iowa a couple years ago, after a friend's wedding (though Iowa is where I grew up), the car thermometer read -14 one early morning! that's cold!!! :)

Good evening (morning?) my darling daughter. Coldest ever for both of us was -20 degrees in good ol' K Falls, OR. Our last winter there. That's when I decided it was time to get out of Dodge!! If you had been older you would have totally agreed!

I love you bunches and am looking
forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Sixty below baby cakes ... but then the thermometer would not go lower than that, not sure what the official temp was ... but we still were able to get out and have a good time.

Welcome back! I still can't get over that I won't be shoveling snow this year... I still can't get over the pygmy palms in the back yard.

The lowest low I remember is -40 when I was a girl, back in WI.

Wow - I can only do Centigrade, and it isn't very low - only -10.

Mostly we don't go below - 1, -2, or -3 - which is only in the high 20s. I don't think I've ever been in negative Farenheit!

In the chiller section at the supermarket?

sorry about the condition of your house (newer post)...hope the bathroom is finished soon!

as for cold...-29 degrees, with wind chill at -58. skiing in ohio as a teenager. paid for 8 weeks, wasn't going to miss one. should have missed one. after the first ride up the lift (where, with the wind chill must have been -75), went into the lodge to sip hot chocolate. they shut down the slopes a few minutes later because it was too cold.

I have no idea. I lived in ND for 20 years so I'm know it's well below 0. I think I remember -40. It sticks out because it's the same temperature in Farhenheit and Celcius. Yes, I am spelling challenged.

It was -46 below zero last January, we were waiting in an airport going to fly to Miami, but it was to cold to de-ice the plane. So we had to suffer one more day in the cold before we could go to Florida. And when we got there, the temps were in the mid 60's, and it warmed up here in North Dakota to the 30's. So not fair. But that is North Dakota for you. lol!
