Oh my goodness it's so beautiful here. And the people who live here are hilarious! Everyone is talking about how cold and miserable the weather has been this month.
Give.
Me.
A.
Freakin'.
Break.
All San Diegoans should go to Houston for the month of August.
They wouldn't last a day.
It may not be "sunny" here (it's partly sunny), but the temps are in the 70's. How can anyone complain about that?!
The grass is always greener ....
J, L and S have a new puppy. She's a golden doodle who doesn't look doodle at all (thankfully), and better yet, she doesn't act "doodle" (sorry to all you poodle lovers out there .... I have never been a fan. Hope it won't stop you from reading the blog).
Her name is Lucy ... easy to remember since my Mom's name is Lucy. Not that she was one of those progressive mothers who let me call her Lucy, even though I grew up in the 60's and 70's.
Not sure where that rant came from ...... must be the massive doses of allergy meeds I'm having to take.
Yep, as soon as I got off of the plane, no kidding, I started sneezing. Three sneezes every 15 to 20 minutes.
What. The. Hell?
I've never had that happen before here.
And I come every year.
And I live in Houston .... the allergy capitol of the world!!
So yesterday I had to go load up on sinus meds and nasal spray. I feel like everyone around me thinks I have the plague (there are many very protective mothers in this community). I need to wear a sign ... "I'm not contagious, Im just allergic to your city).
Allergies or not, I'd still live here. Even if I sneezed my head off every day ..... its SO wonderful to be able to have the windows open in your house.
S turns 5 lateer this month. She informed me last night that she would be coming to my bed later in the night. I said OK, thinking that she'd forget and just sleep through the night.
Nope.
At two a.m. there was a knock on my door and there she stood, with a huge stuffed Shamu (killer whale) in her arms. Shamu is about as big
as she is. She and Shamu climbed into my bed and proceeded to find a comfortable position ....... for at least 20 minutes. Finally she fell asleep with Shamu's head lying on my face. Every few minutes or so S would snuggle into my body. I have never been a snuggler. Ever.
I'd inch away a bit and she'd immediately snuggle in closer. She had to have her body touching mine.
She'll make her husband very happy.
Soon I was barely hanging onto the edge of the bed. Finally I got up and took something to help me sleep around 3:00. We both slept soundly after that .... snuggled together. Or rather, all three of us slept soundly. Shamu seemed to have no sleeping issues whatsoever.
Today I'm taking S to see "Despicable Me". I loved that movie. I hope she does. She's not a movie theatre fan yet. I think they scare her .... probably because her parents scarred her for life when they took her to see Toy Story 3. Heck, that evil bear scared me!,
So I'll give it a try. I told her there were 3 cute little girls in it that she should like and cute little mignons.
Wish me luck.
That's it from hazy, wonderfully cool San Diego.
I may have to become CAmomx6.
Sigh .......
Happy Tuesday, Peeps!
:)

Not that you do "Ask Me Wednesday" on a regular basis anymore, I'm feeling unconventional. Have you ever considered changing the name of your blog now that you life has undergone such changes and strides?
I don't think I can say it enough...but I love you!
