I Made It ....

.... To Berlin.
I can't remember what time our flight finally made it from Paris.
All I know is that we looked like we were making the movie "Airplane", because they changed our gate near boarding time to the other end of the terminal and then waited about 20 minutes and then changed it back.
I'm sure they got quite a kick out of watching all of those "stoo-peed" Americans running all over the place.
Ahhhh, the French ..... Gotta love 'em.

The weather was beautiful when we arrived in Berlin. We had just missed a storm. We got to our hotel and checked in and then everyone headed out to do some sight seeing. We met back for dinner at 7:00 Berlin time and we were all pretty much dragging. I was in bed by 8:00 and slept on and off all night. I finally got up at 6:30. My blog page is in German so hopefully this will look right when I post it.

Today we tour the city and stop at the Brandenburg Gate and walk around there and in several museums around there.

Oh, one interesting note .... well, maybe 2: I have yet to meet a very friendly German (even though my last name is WAY German ....... and, the guy at the hotel desk insisted that I had to make a 100 euro deposit to use the Internet. REALLY??? Yes, really.
Somehow, and I'm not sure how, I got him down to 50.
Oh my gosh, the things I do for my Peeps!

Ok, time to start the day.
Happy Thursday, Peeps.
:)

Have to defend my Landsmänner... it really depends on where you are in Germany. There are some really friendly places. Sorry to hear Berlin isn't one of them. Besides, The friendliest German you know is in Texas :)

I never got to see Berlin. I will not tell you how many years ago that was....my dad was cleared for top secret, thus we could not go. I did see Bavaria, went down the Rhine river on a boat, saw Frankfurt and Wiesbaden, and I guess we went thru the Black Forrest. Also sent to a concentration camp..Dachau. I was a young child but I still remember that...made great impression on me. We should never forget that, just as we should never forget 9/11
Good for you that you got him to come down to 50 euros...Hope you are getting alot of great pictures. Stay safe. Blessings.

I love Berlin.

Have you eaten a Berliner yet?

( A berliner is a jelly donut - New YEar's Eve treat)

When JFK said "Ich bin ein Berliner" he was saying I am a donut.

A bit like someone saying "I am a Frankfurter" (even if they are from Frankfurt"
