I am leaving in about 23 hours.
I am not packed.
My suitcase is not out.
My clothes are not washed.
But ..... I have printed my boarding pass!!! : )
I worked today and tried to get everything caught up and beyond so that I'm not going nuts when I return.
I thought I'd have a nice dinner with the boys tonight but Son #2 came home from school and informed that he had to be at work in less than an hour. I hope I get to see him before I leave!
I think that Son #3 will be home for dinner (he's still at football) but now that he's driving I never know what might be going on.
I'm not ready to leave physically ..... but I am mentally! I'm ready to get on that plane and relax and hopefully get a lot of reading, movie-watching, sleeping done.
I can't wait to see Son #1.
Hopefully he won't have every single day booked for me .... or I'll have to find a surrogate mother (madre) to stand in for me whilst I relax (take a siesta) at the hotel.
The forecast is rain.
Yes.
In.
Deed.
But, the forecast has pushed the rain back by two days now. So hopefully ...... it will keep pushing it back two days at a time and the weather will be beautiful!
What are the odds?
Now for a question ..... let's see ..... I could ask you about bull fighting, but I won't (ugh). I could ask you about running with the bulls ..... but I won't (insanity running amok). I could ask you about ..... sangria .... but I already have my own opinion about that (yum!).
Hmmmmmm ...... ok ..... here it is ......
How many of you Peeps (lurkers and all) speak Spanish?
If you speak any language other than your own ..... which one(s)?
I'll start.
I speak pretty decent Spanish ..... well, at least I hope I still do. I'm not sure how my accent will go over in Spain.
I also can get by in French ..... though I've found that when one is looking up at a very angry-looking French man in a military uniform with a small machine gun in his hands ...... one loses all knowledge of just about every language ..... even one's own!
Trust me.
I can read a little Italian, but that's only because of the Spanish.
I took a year of Latin ..... but all of those folks are dead so I have no one to talk to.
That's it.
Oh .... except that I'm also pretty adept at Pig-Latin.
:)
Now discuss amongst yourselves ......
Happy Tuesday, Peeps ..... I'll try to keep you updated from Spain!!
:)

English, German, Afrkaans - which means I can understand Dutch too, and communicate, and it is very like Flemish. I used to speak fluent Italian, but I think I would need to spend a month or so in Italy to regain that!I can order croissants in French, and say basic words. But so help me, whatever country I am in, I manage to speak a totally different foreign language. Sigh. It is a great source of amusement to my family!
Have a wonderful time, and I hope the rain keeps away!
Linds .... WOW!!! I am very impressed! Isn't it amazing how much more of a language we know in our heads than what actually comes out in words?!
LOL!!!
Thanks for being the first to answer. You're a great Peep!

Little Bro
I venezuelan so I speak spanish :) and I took french and latin for 2 years, I suck at french and I'm great at latin, which sucks since no one speaks latin. And that's it since I'm only 17. :)
I have tourist French, German and Italian - enough to get by and have simple conversations.
And can read and write English - British, American, New Zealand and Australian idiom - if that counts!
Plus tiny amounts of Greek and Maori.
