..... I am done.
I am past done.
I may be burnt.
Which is a little pathetic because I haven't even done all that much. Yesterday I spent about an hour and a half at the fair.
And ate nary a single fried item. Come to think of it, I didn't eat nary anything.
The two Sons, my mom and my brother went out for a late breakfast, then went to see his new house (so pretty!), then drove to Target for a short visit and then came back to the hotel. My brother left for work and we lazed around for an hour. Then we got D and the 5 of us walked around the fair.
The highlight? Finding the guy from whom we bought our huge flag pole several years ago.
We put it down on the dock at the lake, where it proudly flew the US and the OSU flag until earlier this year, when a massive storm ripped it out of the dock.
So I bought another one and look forward to seeing the flags flying again.
After that I headed back to the hotel to get ready for our girls' night out, which was nothing less than I expected. Well, nothing less if you don't count that I only had 2 (& not even 2, really) margaritas and that we managed to shut that place down ..... at 9:00.
Yep, nine p.m.
Kinda pathetic, doncha think?
But we are are hardy lot so we moved our party onward ..... to Starbucks.
Oh we were swinging from the rafters, Peeps.
You should've been there.
:)
Actually, we talked ... a lot. And we caught up. And they asked questions. A lot. And they listened.
V brought me back to the hotel around 11:30. I'm happy to report that R & G are doing well and G is getting better each day. Hopefully, the worst days are behind them.
It seems the other guests are adjusting well to seeing me sit in the hallway at midnight, chatting on the phone. I've even received a couple of ... well, let's just call them "offers".... and leave it at that.
It's a very interesting hotel.
Especially after midnight.
Ok, I need to get ready for another trip to the fair.
The thought of anything fried is making me nauseous.
I'm just getting too old for this, I guess.
I'm hugely disappointed in myself. I had hoped to try at least 5 fried items over the course of the long weekend.
I have a full day ahead of me but my body is starting to protest.
It seems that it's tired, achy, and not in the mood for deep-fried anything.
It doesn't seem to function well on lots of walking, a few fried fair foods and lots of emotional swings.
Last night was emotional, but in a very good way.
I love spending time with my "sisters", the women I lived with before Jim. And during the beginning of my life with him.
They love me, support me, care for me, and pray for me .... as I do them.
I miss them.
There go my emotions again .... dangit!
Ok, that's it.
A totally boring update on my weekend.
:)
