Wee Wednesday Post

Cute, huh?
OK, very short post just to update you all:

The retreat was great.  Have I told you how much I love the people I work with?  Of course I have!

Gabby has doubled her weight in 4 weeks.  Forty pounds and growing!  Vet said she looks great.

Son #2's "graduation" ceremony has been cancelled this weekend due to some jerk named "Ike".

I spoke with a lovely woman named Janette at Continental this morning and she let me cancel all 5 reservations (for the kids and me) and waived the change fee.  She's keeping them in the system so that I can change the date when I find out when the academy has rescheduled graduation.

My kitchen is not done, my grandmother is coming this weekend, along with an uncle and various aunts and maybe cousins.  I sent a text to my contractor early this morning asking if she could "PLEASE get this kitchen done".  We shall see.
On the positive front, the TV is in, the pulls and knobs are on the cabinets, the glass is in the cabinets and ........ oh, wait, that's it.  AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
That was me, screaming for a bit.
I'm better now.

Not really, but now I'm going out to slam some tennis balls around the court.
Hope I don't hit anybody.

Take a DEEP breath!
What the heck? They cancelled graduation just because of one jerky Ike? What about all of the other kids who worked for it and deserve it? That really sucks. Well, I suppose it's just another lesson learned though. Dang.
Gabby is going to be HUGE!!!! I love it:) I'm a giant dog nut, so I can't wait to meet her.
The family will all understand if the kitchen isn't done. They aren't coming to see the kitchen anyway...they're coming to see YOU!
I love you,
Lis

Ummmmmm, Lis?
Since you are in a totally different part of the country I will let this opportunity go, however much I'd like to make fun.
Just so you know (turn on the TV and watch the news!) "Ike" is a hurricane, heading this way.
So, does that help?
I love you and thanks for the chuckle!

I don't live near you and so don't see all the ups and downs, but as an "outside" observer, I see your change Janine. I know it still has to be so terribly tough what you deal with, but you are really sounding to this old friend like some healing is happening. You are such a naturally optimistic person and one can't keep a good woman down. It is wonderful to sense your optimism and humor at times. Keep growing. Love you.
