OK, I was wrong about writing on the check memo line. Don't do that because your check will be tax deductible if you leave the memo line blank. BUT put a note into the envelope or clipped to the check that says, "Kenya trip -- Kaley and Lauren Eggers".

No! Don't put that on the memo line! Then it's not tax deductible! Instead, put "Kenya trip" on the memo line and attach a note or sticky note that says, "For Kaley and Lauren".
