Day 3 of Clinic......

...... Day 2 of my rise from the near-dead.  Don't count your chickens yet, though. One never knows. Does one?

I slept better last night so by the time I got up, showered, ate breakfast and drove to the clinic I was cruising at around 70%!  Not too shabby, seeing how pathetic I was 24 hours earlier.  I didn't even need pain meds last night.
But then the clock struck 2:00 and that dang wall came down out of nowhere, causing me to slam right into it. What the heck?  I'd say that thing is as good a timekeeper as Old Faithful, but that wouldn't be saying much, would it?  The times, they are a-changin'.

Anywhoo, I must've looked as bad as I felt (by then I was running at 30%). Someone told me I looked pale, which I knew is just a man's way of saying, "Wow! You look like hell!", so I graciously took it. There were a couple of mirrors around .... I knew perfectly well how I looked.

I was made to go rest in the van then. The van that had just been parked in the shade, had all of the doors and windows opened ..... and felt heavenly.
I got on the back seat, popped in my bright pink ear plugs and pulled on my sleeping mask and proceeded to try to drift off to sleep, which is something that's never come easily for me, unless I'm apparently near-dead.
Note:  If you're with me during the day time, and I appear to be napping, you might want to slide a mirror under my nose.
I'm just sayin'.

So finally, ever so slowly but FINALLY, I start dropping off.  Only to hear a medium sized thud inside the van. I peeled up my sleep mask and found myself almost face to face with ...... well, I'm not going to tell you with what. Not until I can get a picture tomorrow (hopefully).  I should've taken one then but I was a bit ticked off that my sleep had been disturbed. So I emptied the van rather rudely and then settled back down to try again.
Sigh .......

But, after patiently waiting, sleep finally did start entering my brain and body.
Until ....
You guessed it ...... another thump.  This time I pretty much expected what I'd see .... and I did, only more!!!  Someone had brought along a guest!!
Seriously?!?!
This time I went beyond rude in clearing out the van.   In fact, I exhausted myself so that sleep came pretty quickly after that.
I slept undisturbed for about 20 minutes and then went back to work.
I still feel pretty exhausted but there's still no pain so I'm good.

I'm now at the hotel, sitting under a tree and loving the "cool" weather.
We have a bit of work to do, then dinner and then bed by 8:30.
We are SUCH a lively group.  I'm sure you're all quite keen on partying with us.
I know I am.

Happy Wednesday, Peeps.
